Consolidated source handoff

Addresses source work in #26, #28–#33 and follow-ups under #2–#11/#16/#19. Keeps production acceptance #2 open. This is the single consolidation PR; original commits and donor provenance are retained.

  • Consistent diagnostic/correction addressing without migrating saved board rules; default-on transient preview, explicit Save and guarded exit; custom group layouts retained.
  • Reactive effects, semantic color/state controls, palette/HSV picker, bounded zoom/selection, native panels/box menus and persistent layout/selection; pending native taskbar/notification and Flutter signal-display work included.
  • Shared host-presentation compositor with cell/group/bulk/effect/frame overlays, leases and no-replay ownership; removable interactive host Snake with hidden launchers and opt-in/excluded board engine.
  • Board-owned keycontroller ten-mode engine, per-mode timing/feedback/notes/output rules, AVR epoch fencing and event-first input. Press-to-win/Toggle untimed defaults; Simon one round/eight steps; illuminated target 10s default.
  • One canonical Web source, real managed user-file UI/API with byte/date integrity and protected private storage; opt-in microSD and strong static asset validators; role-specific SSDP icons/description.
  • Real portable-shell adaptation, editable contextual TUI/Telnet/USB commands, bounded client and optional diagnostic queries; gated authenticated native SSH, transactional SCP/SFTP and independent opt-in passive FTP. All transfer services excluded/default-disabled unless explicitly opted in.
  • Configurable NTP/DHCP-NTP and verified HTTPS Date, public-IP/network diagnostics, async Wi-Fi scanning and grouped Flutter Advanced UI. Peer relay gains bounded resolver, verified-IP fallback and explicit saved routes without mutation replay.
  • CI resource budgets/history separated from live observations, donor-derived documentation/tooling improvements and source-hash reconciliation.

Verification and merge gates

Latest source fixes: 378016e + 89b4a6f. Full local node tools/ci-checks.mjs quality passes; all 495 native tests pass. Flutter analyzer/focused signal tests pass; complete Flutter suite is being checked. Focused protocol, managed-file, real OpenSSH stdio, shell, minigame, network, relay and LED fixtures plus scoped ESP32-S3/AVR/Windows/Android candidate builds are documented with hashes in their owning guides and issue comments. Fixtures are not real encrypted ESP sessions or optical/audio proof.

All paginated conversation/review-thread pages are enumerated; four CodeQL findings are now fixed/resolved without suppression (descriptor-owned documentation reads and trusted-script syntax extraction). Current-head CodeQL workflow and standalone finding check pass. Full final-head CI remains the merge gate; no admin bypass. Original source/donor work is preserved; reports expose 430 comparisons, 4302 pending and 310 known gaps rather than claiming total parity.

Remaining acceptance

No new board or installed-client mutation is authorized by this GitHub handoff. Earlier separately approved mixed-checkout deployments are identified in owning issues; they do not attest this final source tree. Current production hold and deferred ASUS access remain. Physical LED/audio/timing/AVR/OTA/Windows/Android acceptance, native correction USB parity, automatic peer discovery/continuous events/bridged client selection and full donor parity remain open. glib dependency security remains #17; retained overflowing ESP8266 support remains #25. S3+AVR are release targets. Private settings, backups and generated caches are intentionally not published. See docs/HANDOFF.md.

Checkpoint 908f829: full local node tools/ci-checks.mjs quality passed (exit 0), in addition to targeted client/transport tests and ESP32-S3, AVR, Rust and Flutter candidate builds. Working tree is clean and source is pushed. Final APK SHA256: 81006c55469a7d97f8055d73b9ec3ba949257cf16bdba51b07fc81f20c053ba5. GitHub repository-health remains in progress at this observation; other reported checks passed. No production board or installed app was changed. Candidate profiles and remaining gates are recorded in docs/CLIENT-CONTROL-CANDIDATE.md. Native correction-panel USB parity and measured installed-device latency remain open; no physical acceptance is claimed.

Portable-shell integration checkpoints 7373e9e and 2a17b8c are pushed (issue #29). All 17 pinned donor entries were read and mapped; 16 regular source files + MIT preserved, CodeQL root symlink intentionally not recreated. Actual catalogue/VT100 integration and safe Tab completion are compiled into the existing single shell. Added real bundled TCP/stdin client and verified existing framed USB, Telnet multi-session server and editable TUI instead of accepting donor stubs. Focused shell/TCP/property/metadata/reuse fixtures and final S3 build passed; exact candidate hash and remaining live gates in #29. No board contacted/flashed/reset. PR comments/reviews and all review-thread pages were inspected before this checkpoint: one existing status comment, no reviews or threads. Not claiming CI completion or main merge.

Shell/TUI checkpoint 6a8d911 is pushed. Detailed implementation, final S3 builds, test evidence and open Unicode/live-acceptance gates are recorded in issue #29. This source-only change does not flash or actuate production boards. No reviews or review threads were present at the pre-push check; CI is not being waited on.

Pushed c78a402: live-layout pixel command consistency, shared contextual catalogue/property/TUI coverage, PU input-case semantics and opt-in bounded public UDP diagnostics. Full implementation/build/test/remaining-gate checklist is in issue #29. Also repaired the stale basic_cells_test assertion responsible for the previous repository-health failure, retaining bounded GET/HEAD/asset validation. Both final S3 role builds and focused tests passed; no production deployment or CI-completion claim.

Snake checkpoint 9421679 is pushed, tracked in issue #30. Focused host/WebSocket/core/native tests and default-disabled S3 plus Android candidate builds passed; actual host-only browser gameplay inspected. No board deployment/actuation. Installed client acceptance, optional enabled-board integration, and explicit useful donor gaps remain open. PR comments/reviews/reviewThreads inspected; no reviews or threads were present. Not waiting for or claiming completion of CI.

Host Wi-Fi checkpoint e924adc is pushed; implementation, candidate hashes and acceptance checklist are on issue #31. Flutter analysis/5 tests, Rust Check/1 test/Release and hash-bound comparison checks passed. Android and Windows candidates built; not installed and no host network or board switched. Reviewed current conversations: no reviews or review threads were present. Not waiting on or claiming CI completion.

Current reconciliation checkpoint: the historical 508-entry backlog is no longer present; the checkout is clean after pushed commits 286c4fe, 6940e63 and e49cb37. Fixed invalid donor review statuses and Windows PowerShell empty-directory storage auditing. Imported/adapted PCController local documentation-link checks, task-oriented guides, and Pealayer's paginated CI artifact summary. Local full quality suite passed at the first checkpoint; affected documentation/governance/comparison tests passed afterwards. The latest CI run caught ShellCheck SC2016 in literal Markdown formatting; e49cb37 removes that formatting without bypassing lint. PR remains open pending current-head CI and completion of the accumulated full-diff review. No completed Copilot review is claimed. Donor coverage remains explicitly incomplete (429 hash-bound comparisons, 4303 pending, 309 known parity gaps); no production-board acceptance inferred. A separate requested tablet APK deployment is proceeding with automatic board updates held.

Peer relay recovery source/build checkpoint pushed through cfad951. Verified IP cache, bounded mDNS/DNS, explicit saved routes, SDK Host/UA correction, fragmented-memory admission and no-replay fixtures. Final S3 raw image2340064B SHA256 f18721c3387951fdce2738e1fa166031c3cead60c868ecc5b79298c4b924107c; NOT deployed. Full evidence and still-open automatic discovery/event/client-route integration recorded on issue #7. Existing AVR mapping CI failure remains. No merge or hardware acceptance claimed; unrelated Windows/Android edits preserved.

Checkpoint b09650e3b424a2dac87b18581c404ef04c6e56d3 pushed to PR #27. Implemented real SCP uploads over SSH, SFTP v3 file operations and passive FTP using the shared protected public-file store. Flags: -S3Ssh -S3Scp -S3Sftp / independent -S3Ftp; excluded by default, persistent runtime opt-in when included. No additional FTP/SFTP dependency beyond the pinned existing SSH port.

Measured SDK profile (table, flash16/OPI, buffered UART0, Ethernet/RGB48, both LED backends/RMT default, BLE off):

Build Raw image bytes Static RAM bytes
Ordinary 2,387,744 140,156
FTP 2,401,440 144,748
SSH/SCP/SFTP/FTP 2,694,000 147,556

OTA capacity 3,342,336 bytes; full option 80.60%. FTP overhead +13,696 flash/+4,592 static RAM; full bundle +306,256/+7,400. Dynamic worker/crypto memory is separate: SSH stack 24 KiB, admission 90,000 free internal heap, SFTP receive buffer 33,024 bytes preferring PSRAM. These are not live free-heap observations. Exact hashes/profiles and client commands: docs/SSH.md. Ordinary artifact restored in the same canonical cache.

Passed tools/test-ssh.ps1, tools/test-user-files.ps1, actual shell service fixtures for both architectures, and all three canonical SDK builds. Real OpenSSH clients exercised SCP binary/empty uploads and SFTP default-buffer 65 KiB put/list/get roundtrip over stdio. Actual FTP binding doubles exercised same-IP passive admission, byte integrity, partial sends, abort/reset, deadlines, NVS opt-in and auth/flash-fence cleanup. These are not real encrypted ESP sockets or hardware acceptance.

No board flash/reboot/configuration/output, ASUS/tablet or app deployment occurred. Live transfers, identity persistence and runtime heap/TLS/LED acceptance remain open; no merge or production-issue closure. Unrelated local desktop/mobile edits preserved. Repository-wide CI is not claimed green (the prior AVR source-certificate mismatch is separate).

Handoff checkpoint 89b4a6f: all remaining local client work is published. 495 native tests pass; Flutter analysis and four signal-widget tests pass after fixing a real popup overflow. Full local node tools/ci-checks.mjs quality now passes. Old AVR source certificates, update/NTP/table-extraction/text fixtures were reconciled against actual current owners without changing board behavior or bypassing checks. All three paginated CodeQL findings are repaired; current-head security workflow and standalone finding check pass. Full SDK/Windows/Android CI is still running, so merge remains gated. No production boards, apps, scenes, settings or secrets changed.

CI repair 8102f04 is pushed and synchronized into stacked PR #34. Terminal run 40750230610 passed Windows (495 tests/package), Android, RF AVR and both S3 keycontroller configurations, then exposed a real table-role AVR missing-symbol error: shared boardKeyGesture referenced first-wins-only espGameOwned. Guard only that ownership branch. A fixture compiles and executes the actual callback for both role flags, reproduced the old failure, and now verifies Down/Up, ninth input, menu/capture guards and exclusive ESP ownership. All three table AVR SDK profiles and RF-enabled keycontroller build/boot-chain verification now pass locally. Reviewed AVR/proof hashes are rebound in the existing ledger; no timing, pin, protocol or saved-instance change. Final-head Build40753861517 and the synchronized child Build40753870815 remain merge gates. No board or installed client was contacted or changed.
