feat: summarize optional analyzers in PR workflows - #75
Optional quality analyses require explicit reusable-workflow inputs and produce a bounded job summary even for findings or setup/execution failures. Both tools remain disabled by default. Verified findings use the selected report/fail policy; operational errors always fail through the mandatory final gate.
Magic Numbers uses the existing exact-PR Git/PHP selection and complete native XML plus exit status. Rector uses an explicitly selected native configuration and preview-only JSON. Native changed-file counts and unavailable line locations retain their actual meaning; no source diff is interpreted as an AST location. refactor --format=json rejects --apply before configuration evaluation.
The hosted Linux helper limits captured output and total lifetime, confirms its owned session/process group before starting consumer configuration, and cleans up ordinary descendants. It keeps the existing read-only PR/ref boundary and does not upload raw reports. Executable Rector configuration is not a filesystem sandbox. Documentation covers inputs, policies, statuses, counts, capabilities and limits; own CI enables only advisory Magic Numbers.
Refs #10 for the partial native Rector JSON and parsing/rendering work. The broader ECS/cross-command structured-result and compact-JSON contract remains open; this PR does not close that issue.
The released-channel consumer wrapper contains only the baseline check inputs. Optional inputs are documented as the selected workflow revision's API; the wrapper has no bootstrap/deployment comments or inactive optional stubs.
Validation of 92817efd8a560db6990588d206b606aba094d754, tree e3e0213f2a5458e0e415eca19169284bfc0abaeb:
Own locked 57-package graph matches every name/version/source/dist ref; manifest/lock unchanged.
Normal local composer check: 216 tests / 1,507 assertions / 6 explicit skips, plus Composer validation/platform, syntax and ECS. Five skips require Linux; one is the unavailable DOM-free PHP runtime probe.
Official existing Homebrew/core actionlint 1.7.12 passes repository workflows and consumer wrappers.
Structural XML regression: red 13 tests / 15 assertions, 9 failures; green 13 / 15 after the minimal fix. Unexpected CDATA/PI at root/files/file is rejected; legitimate snippet CDATA and structural whitespace/comments remain supported.
Hosted Quality 40538126885 passes PHP 8.3/8.4/8.5. Inspected 8.3 and 8.5 logs each show 216 tests / 1,543 assertions without skips, plus style and 33 Twig checks. Synthetic merge 39336e6f1d7b9168807b403e47a8f7b98368a9e9 has the exact reviewed tree above.
The actual optional-analysis job completes with Magic Numbers enabled, Rector disabled, summary-written=true and blocking=false; fallback summary is skipped. A real fork experiment remains tracked in Verify fork PR automation and fresh Composer distribution #2.
Merge requires completed, clean reviews of this HEAD; old-head review results are not reused.

📝 Summary
Summary by CodeRabbit
New Features
Added optional Magic Numbers and Rector analyses to reusable quality workflows. Both are disabled by default; findings can be reported or configured to block, while operational errors always block.
Added analysis summaries with statuses, counts, and available diagnostics. Magic Numbers checks selected PHP files; Rector analyzes the consumer project.
Added --format=json for Rector previews. JSON mode cannot be combined with --apply; text output remains the default.
Added a pull-request-only standards workflow. Project quality checks continue to run on pull requests, main-branch pushes, and manual runs.
Documentation
Added guidance for optional analyses, policies, workflow setup, and Rector JSON previews.
This pull request adds preview-only JSON output for Rector and optional Magic Numbers and Rector analyses in reusable pull-request workflows. It validates native reports, renders bounded summaries, and applies report or fail policies.

Adds optional-analysis inputs and a pull-request enforcement workflow. Adds a separate PR caller for project standards while preserving push and manual project-quality runs.

Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
[ #73 ] The reusable workflows pass explicit analyzer and policy inputs. Both analyzers remain disabled by default. AnalysisResult, OptionalAnalysisRunner, NativeReportParser, and the mandatory workflow gate distinguish disabled, not-executed, clean, findings, and operational-error states. The implementation applies report or fail to verified findings and always blocks operational errors or invalid native output. SummaryRenderer and the fallback path keep summaries visible, bounded, escaped, and truthful about counts, files, and unavailable lines. BoundedProcess limits time and output and cleans up owned descendants. Magic Numbers uses exact PR selection. Rector uses an explicit consumer-relative configuration and preview-only JSON. Tests and documentation cover native outcomes, empty selection, policies, limits, escaping, fork-safe workflow wiring, and the documented security boundaries.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changes remain within [ #73 ]. The workflow inputs, optional-analysis job, parser, process boundary, summary renderer, tests, and documentation implement the linked issue. The Rector JSON preview changes support the qualified native adapter required by [ #73 ] and do not add automatic apply. The workflows retain read-only permissions, separate checkouts, and existing event and runtime boundaries. No unrelated rollout, release, privileged event, consumer dependency installation, or new permission appears in the reviewed changes.

A rabbit checks the report at night, With bounded bytes tucked safe and tight. JSON previews show the way, While findings wait for policy’s say. The workflow marks each state in view, Then hops along to tests anew.

The independently reproduced structural-validation gap is corrected in 92817efd8a560db6990588d206b606aba094d754.
At PHPMND's root/files/file boundaries, only expected elements, whitespace text and comments are accepted; CDATA/PI and other unexpected nodes reject classification. Native source-snippet CDATA remains opaque and supported. Focused red/green: 13 tests / 15 assertions, 9 failures before the fix and none afterward.
Current hosted Quality passes; inspected Linux PHP 8.3/8.5 logs each report 216 tests / 1,543 assertions without skips. Exact-tree independent review is clear. External current-head reviews remain a separate merge gate.
Please review current HEAD 2d901eeee3f6b51387b29cc3e89f74e15eded4f9, including the optional-analysis feature and the native PR-only caller boundary. The current hosted CodeQL, PHP 8.3/8.4/8.5, reusable checks, Changelog and Codex code/security all completed successfully. The previous quota notice estimated availability after 20:13 UTC; no current review is active. Please evaluate this HEAD rather than treating resolved older threads as approval. perform its empty-files check after selection so Rector-only runs are unaffected

preventing Sphinx’s “Title underline too short” warning while leaving the titles
