Codex posted three findings on #616 just before it merged; they were unaddressed there. Each one is reproduced and fixed here.
dispatch-runner.sh: counters were lost under --parallel.
Under --parallel, execute_entry runs in a background subshell, so every ((FAILED++)), ((SUCCEEDED++)) and so on was discarded when the job exited. The summary and the Kin heartbeat then reported zero failures while real ones existed. An experiment reproduces it: two jobs that each failed left the parent with FAILED=0.
Jobs now append the counter's name to a tally file with a single short O_APPEND write, and the parent adds the tally in after wait (count/fold_counts). The sequential path is unchanged.
run-fleet.sh: a deprecated pattern was logged under its old id.
A finding with the deprecated recipe-remove-believe-me pattern ran the annotation fixer and logged a verified outcome under the removal id.
The pattern is now passed through canonical_recipe_id before both the lookup and the log entry, as dispatch-runner.sh already does.
audit-fix-outcomes.sh: rows scoped to one file were replayed against the whole repo.
A row naming one file was replayed repo-wide, so a target in an unrelated file could refute it.
Such rows are now skipped and counted on stderr.
Every E1 row is repo-scoped. The replay over the full log still reproduces E1-replay-2026-10-20.tsv exactly, so the E1 result is unchanged.
Validation
tests/outcome-verdict-test.sh: 38/38 checks pass, two of them new: the skip of a file-scoped row, and background counts reaching the parent. The new checks fail against the previous code.
The quarantine test, the record-outcome smoke test and dispatch-paths all pass.
check-lock-sync.sh is clean.
shellcheck: no new findings.
The two SC2004 notes are false positives and are annotated: the $ there performs the indirection to the counter's name.
run-fleet's SC2221/SC2222 warnings were already there; my edit only shifted their line numbers.
…, file scope
Three Codex findings that landed on #616 as it merged, each reproduced:
- dispatch-runner: under --parallel, execute_entry runs in a background
subshell, so every ((FAILED++)) etc. was lost and the summary and the
heartbeat read 0 failures over real ones (measured: FAILED=0 for two
failed jobs). Jobs now append to a tally file the parent folds in after
`wait` (count/fold_counts); the sequential path is unchanged.
- run-fleet: a finding with the deprecated `recipe-remove-believe-me`
pattern ran the annotation fixer and logged a verified outcome under
the removal id. The pattern is now canonicalised before lookup and
logging, as dispatch-runner already does.
- audit-fix-outcomes: a row naming one `file` was replayed repo-wide, so a
target elsewhere could refute it. Such rows are now skipped and counted
on stderr; every E1 row is repo-scoped, and the replay still reproduces
E1-replay-2026-10-20.tsv exactly.
tests/outcome-verdict-test.sh: 36 -> 38 checks (file-scoped skip, and
background counts reaching the parent).

Two red checks on 0367147. Neither comes from this diff, which touches only scripts/ shell files, one test and one doc. I'm not widening this PR to fix them. The causes and proposed fixes are below.

Preserve the repo-root file marker during replay
Treat file == "." as repository-scoped rather than skipping it. dispatch-runner.sh explicitly sends . as the repo-grain --file value to Hypatia, so any resulting outcome log passed to this generic replay script is now classified as file-scoped and omitted entirely. Both the skipped-row count and replay filter should distinguish actual file paths from the . repo-root marker.

Confirmed: dispatch-runner.sh sends . as the repo-root marker, and this PR's filter treated it as a file. Fixed in #623, which treats "", . and ./ as repo-scoped. The test fixture now covers ..

Add an integration check for the --parallel counter path in the dispatch loop.
Test section 8 checks the tally and fold helpers in isolation. It does not run the code that dispatches entries, waits for jobs, and folds the counts. A regression in that path can leave the test green while parallel summary counts are wrong.
The test sources only the # --- Run counters --- block. It then calls job_counts directly in background jobs with IN_JOB=1, calls fold_counts itself, and checks the totals. It does not call execute_entry, run_entry, or the main loop. Three parts of the dispatch path are therefore not exercised:
run_entry in scripts/dispatch-runner.sh (around lines 609-622), which sets IN_JOB=1 on the background execute_entry call.
The post-loop if [[ "$PARALLEL" -gt 1 ]]; then wait; fold_counts; fi (around lines 669-672).
The main loop's own dispatch and counter updates.
If a change removes the IN_JOB=1 prefix from run_entry, or removes the post-loop wait and fold_counts, the test still passes. Parallel runs would then report zero or incomplete EXECUTED, SUCCEEDED, FAILED, and SKIPPED counts. The section header says it verifies that counts "survive --parallel", but the assertion does not cover that path.
Add a check that runs the real main loop with --parallel greater than 1 on a small manifest. Use a stub or fixture that makes execution deterministic. Assert the parent's final summary counts. The existing helper check can stay as a unit check.

## Summary
`GSBot build, tests and dependency security` fails on main and on every
PR (#622, #623) because of three blocking advisories. This is a
lockfile-only fix in `bots/gsbot/Cargo.lock`, and every update is
semver-compatible:
| Crate | From | To | Advisory |
|---|---|---|---|
| webpki-roots | 1.0.7 | 1.0.11 | RUSTSEC-2026-0381 (fixed in ≥ 1.0.10)
|
| rustls-webpki | 0.103.15 | 0.103.16 | RUSTSEC-2026-0382: distrusted
intermediates can be accepted |
| tokio | 1.52.3 | 1.54.1 | RUSTSEC-2026-0386: `AsyncFd` I/O safety; no
fixed 1.52.x release exists |
This corrects the fix I proposed on #622. That proposal named only
webpki-roots, and running the check showed that bump alone still fails
on the other two.
## Validation
- Ran the CI step with cargo-deny 0.20.2, the version CI pins: `cargo
deny --locked --config deny.toml check advisories --warn unmaintained`.
- On main's lock it reports `advisories FAILED` (0381, 0382, 0386).
- On this lock it reports `advisories ok`. `derivative` remains as an
unmaintained *warning*, which is what deny.toml intends.
- `cargo test --locked --all-targets` passes.

…runner (#623)
## Summary
This fixes two defects in my own change in #622. Both were reported by
review bots after it merged, and I reproduced both.
- **`audit-fix-outcomes.sh` dropped repo-grain rows** (Codex P2).
- #622 skipped every row with a non-empty `file`. But
`dispatch-runner.sh` sends `.` as its explicit repo-root marker for
repo-grain fixes (line 247), so those repo-scoped rows were discarded.
- A single jq definition, `repo_scoped`, now treats `""`, `.` and `./`
as repo-scoped. Both the skip count and the replay filter use it.
- **ShellCheck could not parse `dispatch-runner.sh`** (CodeRabbit,
SC1124).
- A `# shellcheck disable` directive inside a `case` arm is a parse
error for ShellCheck, so analysis stopped at that line and everything
after it went unchecked. Bash itself runs the script fine.
- The directive now sits before the `case`.
- #622's description said "shellcheck: no new findings". That was wrong:
the parse error hid the rest of the file.
## Validation
- **`tests/outcome-verdict-test.sh`: 38/38 pass.**
- The fixture's shell-quote row now carries `"file":"."`.
- With the audit fix reverted, 3 checks fail: that row is missing from
the replay, it is missing from the NA case, and the skip count reads 2
instead of 1.
- **ShellCheck on `dispatch-runner.sh`** now parses the whole file. Its
findings match the pre-#622 baseline (`418ba76`) exactly, so the fix
adds no new findings. On `audit-fix-outcomes.sh` there are no new
findings; the one SC2016 is annotated, because `$f` there is a jq
variable.
- **E1 is unchanged.** Across all 21 585 rows of the full E1 outcome
log, no `file` is `.` or `./`, and those are the only values whose
classification changed. The replay selection is therefore identical, and
the doc's byte-for-byte claim still holds.
- `check-lock-sync.sh` is clean.
## Not done here
CodeRabbit also suggested an integration test that runs the real
`--parallel` dispatch loop; it labelled this Trivial and a heavy lift.
Section 8 currently tests the tally and fold helpers on their own. The
suggestion has merit, but the loop shells out to Hypatia and the fixers,
so a deterministic harness needs stubs for both. I'll raise that
separately instead of growing this fix.
The two red checks on #622 come from outside this diff: canon pin drift
on rhodibot, and the webpki-roots advisory on gsbot. They are described
with proposed fixes in #622's comment. I expect them to stay red here.
