feat(azure): change member IDs and choose the new member's address - #95
viganogabriele wants to merge 10 commits into
Conversation
The members table gets a "Change member ID" row action for holders of the new azure:members:write permission. The dialog confirms the change before saving, shows it optimistically, and can email the member the new ID (to their Microsoft 365 address by default). The backend refuses IDs already assigned to someone else. Creating a member now offers a Standard address (firstname.lastname, shown live) or a Custom one. The recipient field is labelled as the member's personal email; a PoliNetwork address asks for confirmation and the address being created is refused, since the welcome email carries its credentials. Needs the backend release with azure:members:write and the mailbox choice (bump @polinetwork/backend once published) and the permission registered in the IdP.

Update @polinetwork/backend to the release whose setAssocNumber returns notificationSent. The installed backend types return only { error: string | null }, so pnpm typecheck fails with TS2339.

There was a problem hiding this comment.

Keep saved IDs through stale directory reloads and restore the prior pending value if a later change fails. Validate member numbers without changing the entered value, surface failed welcome emails, and simplify dialog copy. Add regression tests and updated browser screenshots with simulated data.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Use the endpoint’s email validation rule in the dialog.
If the recipient is user@domain..com, isEmail accepts it and opens the confirmation dialog. The endpoint’s z.email() rejects it, so the save fails instead of showing the field error. Use the same Zod email check before confirmation. Zod 4’s default email pattern rejects consecutive dots. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Use a mailbox-aware backend before enabling custom creation.
The dashboard sends mailbox, but the locked @polinetwork/backend@1.11.0 contract does not declare or forward it. The backend derives the account address from the member’s names. A custom request such as m.rossi can therefore create mario.rossi@polinetwork.org instead. The custom address option is not functional with the locked backend.
Update the backend dependency and lockfile only to a release that declares and forwards mailbox, or merge that backend contract before enabling this UI.

Ensure the backend contract used by createAzureMember declares and forwards
mailbox before enabling custom mailbox creation; update the backend dependency
and lockfile only to a compatible release, or keep the custom option disabled
until that contract is available.

@polinetwork.orgrichiede conferma e l’indirizzo appena creato viene rifiutato.
Cambio numero
