  • CacheSession.page_count 只表示已处理到哪一页。
  • 新接口 allocate_pages_for_write() 用具名结果分别返回 page_indices、ready_flags、writer_flags。原 allocate_pages() 继续返回页面和 READY 标记,删除改变第二项语义的 return_ownership 开关。

新增 test_async_cpu_cache.py、test_async_cpu_cache_pressure.py、test_async_cpu_cache_tp.py,并在现有 test_backend_startup.py 扩展 CPU-cache/FA3/main/draft 初始化矩阵;位于 unit_tests/common/att_resources/。

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • CPU-cache page transfers can run asynchronously using staging buffers, while synchronous transfers remain supported.
    • Completed prompt pages can be offloaded incrementally, with optional disk offload when configured.
    • CPU-cache pages can be restored and stored from either CPU or CUDA buffers.
  • Improvements
    • Automatic token-capacity planning now accounts for memory reserved for CPU-cache staging.
    • Cached pages remain allocated until retained references are released.
    • Disk offload waits until all cached pages are ready, helping prevent incomplete cache data from being published.

Walkthrough

The change adds asynchronous CPU-cache loads and offloads using CUDA staging buffers. It tracks page leases and cache sessions until transfers complete, and integrates incremental prompt-page offload. The synchronous cache path remains available.

Changes: Asynchronous CPU cache

Layer / File(s) Summary
Staging buffers and page copies
lightllm/common/attention_state/bounded_att/{gdn,kda}/..., lightllm/common/attention_state/cpu_cache_operator.py, lightllm/common/attention_state/manager.py, lightllm/common/basemodel/attention/..., lightllm/common/basemodel/basemodel.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_backend_startup.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache_pressure.py
Backend declarations configure CPU-cache synchronization. Bounded-attention page writers accept CPU or CUDA buffers. CpuCacheOperator provides staging capacity and copies mapped staging regions into CPU pages. Automatic capacity planning includes the staging reservation when CPU caching is enabled. Tests cover staged copies, backend capability selection, and staging-memory accounting.
Async load setup and page leases
lightllm/common/attention_state/allocators/state_page_allocator.py, lightllm/server/multi_level_kv_cache/cpu_cache_client.py, lightllm/server/router/model_infer/mode_backend/multi_level_kv_cache.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache_pressure.py
The allocator tracks retained slots and invokes a callback under allocation pressure. Page allocation can report writer ownership. The cache module retains page references during asynchronous loads and records task and session state. Tests cover allocation ownership, retained slots, and deferred release during loads.
Incremental asynchronous offload
lightllm/server/router/model_infer/mode_backend/base_backend.py, lightllm/server/router/model_infer/mode_backend/multi_level_kv_cache.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache_pressure.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache_tp.py
Backend request handling schedules writes for completed prompt pages. The cache module packs pages into staging slots and scatters them to CPU pages. Tests cover incremental stores, tail pages, batched requests, and tensor-parallel writes.
Transfer completion and session cleanup
lightllm/server/router/model_infer/mode_backend/multi_level_kv_cache.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache_pressure.py, unit_tests/common/att_resources/test_async_cpu_cache_tp.py
Task polling releases resources for completed transfers. Cache sessions close after pending work finishes and, when disk offload is enabled, their pages are ready. Tests cover completion polling, session closure, and distributed completion.

The asynchronous CPU-cache change still carries an open risk that a failed disk load leaves pages stuck in the loading state, so disk-offload sessions may never complete and cache pages may leak. A smaller open risk is that backend buffers created inside the pausable KV-cache region could lose their contents. Resolve or explicitly accept both before merging.

Handle LOADING-page ownership without racing disk loads.

An async store request can attach to an existing LOADING page without writing it. If the concurrent disk load fails, recycle_pages releases only the disk loader's reference. The remaining reference keeps the page hashed and LOADING.

With disk offload enabled, _poll_async_tasks can wait indefinitely for that page to become READY. Without disk offload, the page can return to the LRU list while remaining unusable.

Do not change the ownership result to (not ready). The disk read runs after the cache lock is released, so this change can submit a CPU write while the disk read is still filling the same page. Coordinate LOADING-page waiters with the disk-load result instead: release their references and reset the failed page, or allow them to rewrite it only after the disk load has ended.

Update the LOADING-page waiter handling in the allocation flow around
`allocate_one_page` so waiters are coordinated with the disk-load outcome rather
than treated as owners or writers while a read is in progress. On load failure,
release waiter references and reset the failed page, or permit a rewrite only
after the disk load has ended; preserve the existing ownership result and
prevent failed pages from remaining hashed and LOADING or unusable in the LRU.

Keep DeepSeek-V4 workspace allocation outside the KV-cache region.

When CPU cache is enabled, _init_att_backend() creates flashmla_prefill_q inside the MemoryTag.KV_CACHE region. A KV-cache pause discards this buffer's contents. After resume, the prefill path rewrites only the local query heads and passes the padded heads to prefill_att. This can produce incorrect resumed prefill results because the padded heads are no longer zeroed.

Keep backend construction before manager.initialize_storage, but run it outside the KV-cache region. Keep CPU-cache backend configuration inside that region.

@lightllm/server/router/model_infer/mode_backend/base_backend.py around lines
173 - 187:
Move the calls to _init_att_backend() and _init_att_backend1() outside the
MemoryTag.KV_CACHE region while keeping backend construction before
manager.initialize_storage. Keep configure_backends() inside the KV-cache region
and preserve its existing CPU-cache condition.
