Refs #356. Step 1 of 2 (pkg first, as in #309 / #261 / #262): providers pin pkg as a published module, so a new pkg field has to merge before a provider can use it.

What

Adds common.RecommendationParams.SPAccountScope (linked | payer, case-insensitive, empty = linked). Field only, no behaviour change.

Chain

  1. This PR (pkg only).
  2. Provider PR (feat/356-aws-sp-account-scope): bumps the pkg pin in providers/aws and reads the field in collection_sp.go (AccountScope was hardcoded LINKED). Opened once this merges and its pin can be set.
  3. CLI cli#2185 (--sp-account-scope) bumps both pins.

Verified: cd pkg && GOWORK=off go vet ./... && GOWORK=off go test -short ./... passes; providers/aws unchanged here so standalone build is unaffected.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

…recommendations

Add RecommendationParams.SPAccountScope (linked or payer, empty is linked).
Savings Plan recommendations were hardcoded to LINKED, which returns nothing
for Compute SP in a management account where PAYER returns the org-wide
recommendation. Unknown values are an error.

📝 Walkthrough

Savings Plans recommendations now accept a configurable Cost Explorer account scope. Empty or case-insensitive linked selects linked scope; case-insensitive payer selects payer scope. Invalid values return an error before requests are sent.

Changes: Savings Plans account scope

Layer / File(s) Summary
Configure and apply Savings Plans account scope
pkg/common/types.go, providers/aws/recommendations/collection_sp.go, providers/aws/recommendations/parser_sp_account_scope_test.go
RecommendationParams adds SPAccountScope. Requests use the mapped scope, and tests cover empty, linked, payer, and invalid values.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 5fb81

Mixed-case scope values work in the current implementation, but the new tests do not protect that documented behavior. The gap is small, so merge risk is low; adding a mixed-case test is advisable.

Add a mixed-case input to the scope table.

SPAccountScope is documented as case-insensitive. Add a mixed-case value to cover that contract. Whitespace trimming is not documented, so do not add a whitespace case or strings.TrimSpace.

…o a follow-up

providers/aws builds against the pinned pkg module, so a new pkg field cannot
be used in the same PR. Step 1 of 2 for #356: pkg first, then the provider
change with a pkg pin bump.

Independent review (claude-opus-5-5) of 5fb81ba: APPROVE

Net diff vs main is the 4-line field + doc in pkg/common/types.go (the provider commit b18b656 is reverted by 5fb81ba; git diff origin/main -- providers ci_cd_sanity_tests is empty).

Non-blocking findings

  1. pkg/common/types.go:528-531: the doc is enough for the provider consumer (linked/payer, case-insensitive, empty = linked, payer only meaningful on a management account). Suggest adding one clause that any other value is an error at the provider, so the follow-up rejects unknown values loudly instead of falling back to LINKED.
  2. Validation boundary: no pkg validation is right. RecommendationParams has no Validate method and its sibling string fields (Term, PaymentOption, LookbackPeriod, IncludeSPTypes) are all interpreted and checked by the provider. Optional: exported constants for the two values would let the CLI and provider share the literals; not required for consistency with the siblings.
  3. Scope note for the follow-up: the RI path also hardcodes AccountScopeLinked (providers/aws/recommendations/client.go:153); the SP prefix makes it explicit that it is not covered, which is fine.
  4. The CodeRabbit review on this PR was of b18b656 (the provider version), not this head.

Mutation testing: not meaningful for a field-only addition with no behaviour; the consumer half carries the tests.

Evidence (fresh clone, this SHA)

  • cd pkg && GOWORK=off go vet ./...: clean. GOWORK=off go test -short ./...: 1454 passed in 14 packages.
  • GOWORK=off go build ./... in providers/aws, providers/azure, providers/gcp, ci_cd_sanity_tests against their pinned pkg: all OK (pins unchanged).
  • gh search code SPAccountScope --owner LeanerCloud: no other references yet.
  • CI at review time: all checks green except Integration Tests, which was still running (rerun after the proxy.golang.org download error). Confirm it is green on this SHA before merging.

…recommendations (#360)

Read RecommendationParams.SPAccountScope (added in #357) when requesting
Savings Plan recommendations. Empty and linked request LINKED, payer requests
PAYER; any other value is an error, never a silent LINKED fallback. Bumps the
pkg pin to cdcdc7f.
