Bumps the version to 0.8.0-beta.1 and cuts its CHANGELOG section. It also teaches the release tooling about pre-release versions, so the Electron app (#185) can go out for testing, especially on Windows, without replacing v0.7.0 as the latest release.
scripts/release.tsaccepts explicit versions with a pre-release suffix such as0.8.0-beta.1. From a pre-release,patch/minor/majorare refused with a message asking for the next version explicitly, instead of producingNaN. The bump logic is exported and covered byscripts/release.test.ts.release.ymlcreates the draft with--prereleasewhen the tag has a-suffix. Publishing it later withgh release edit --draft=false(without--latest) keeps v0.7.0 as the latest release. PRs that touchscripts/release.tsnow also run the release builds.Because this PR touches
release.yml, its CI builds the macOS and Windows installers with the0.8.0-beta.1version, which checks that electron-builder accepts a pre-release version on both platforms.Tested:
bun test --randomize --seed=1 scripts/release.test.ts(4 pass).bun run scripts/release.ts 0.8.0-beta.1 --dryfinds the CHANGELOG section, and0.8is rejected.
