Description

Adds a focused regression test for the floating recording HUD's pointer surface. The test parses LaunchWindow.tsx and checks that:

  • the stationary layout wrapper stays click-through after the HUD is moved
  • only the visibly transformed HUD bar is interactive
  • the hover handlers stay on that visible bar

This replaces #859, whose branch picked up unrelated history and showed hundreds of changed files. This PR contains only the one test file, on top of current main.

Motivation

This protects the fix for the dead click zone reported in #698. The failure happened when the interactive pointer surface stayed at the HUD's original bottom-of-screen position while the visible bar was translated elsewhere. The production fix is already on main; this adds coverage so a layout refactor cannot silently bring the invisible click-blocking area back.

Testing Guide

  • npx vitest run src/components/launch/hudPointerSurface.test.ts: 2 tests pass on current main (109ca3a).
  • npx biome check src/components/launch/hudPointerSurface.test.ts: clean.
  • Full npm test locally: 1,638 passed. 3 tests in electron/ipc/recording/ failed only because my local install skipped the ffmpeg-static download (spawn ... ffmpeg ENOENT); they do not touch this change.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Added coverage to verify that the launch HUD’s layout wrapper allows clicks to pass through while the HUD bar responds to pointer interactions.

Add a regression test for the floating recording HUD's pointer surface.
It parses LaunchWindow.tsx and checks that the stationary layout wrapper
stays click-through after the HUD moves, and that only the visibly
transformed HUD bar is interactive and carries the hover handlers.

Walkthrough

Adds an AST-based test for the HUD layout wrapper and transformed bar. The test checks their pointer-related classes and mouse event handlers.

Changes: HUD pointer surface test

Layer / File(s) Summary
Pointer contract test
src/components/launch/hudPointerSurface.test.ts
Adds AST helpers to locate JSX elements by ref, then checks the wrapper’s click-through declarations and the bar’s pointer-active class and mouse handlers.

The HUD remains click-through in the current code. Strengthen the regression test before relying on it to catch a future dead click zone; these coverage gaps do not block merging.

Cover both outer HUD ancestors.

The test checks only the immediate parent of hudBarTransformRef. It passes if the 100vh wrapper or the hudContentRef wrapper loses pointer-events-none. Add assertions for both ancestors.

The current production JSX already sets pointer-events-none on these ancestors, so this is a regression-test coverage gap rather than a current production defect.

Match the unprefixed pointer-events-none token.

toContain("pointer-events-none") also matches md:pointer-events-none, because the helper returns raw JSX source text. Tailwind applies md: utilities only at the medium breakpoint and up. Below that width, the layout wrapper would not be click-through, but this assertion would still pass. The other assertions in this test do not detect that change either. Match the complete class token instead.
