Summary

Reworks the docs community pages so each claim about who uses FileKit can be checked.

  • Showcase (/showcase, same URL) now has three tiers:
    • Trusted by: organizations, each with a short usage note and a link to the build file that declares FileKit (Thunderbird, Leboncoin Spark, Gradle Client, Blockstream Green, Square, Android FHIR SDK, DroidKaigi 2025, Mifos, ORT Workbench, Scanbot SDK example).
    • Open source apps: sorted by stars, with live shields.io badges, a usage note and a source link. There is also a small Libraries table.
    • Commercial and closed-source apps: linked to the developers' own posts in Discussion Feature your project in the FileKit readme ✨ #343.
  • Wall of love (/wall-of-love, new): 26 exact quotes from public posts (X, GitHub issues, Discussions and PRs, READMEs, a newsletter), as cards with name, handle, platform, date and a link to the original. Cards come from docs/snippets/quote-card.jsx, styled in docs/style.css for light and dark mode, with the author's GitHub avatar (initials when there is none). Reddit quotes are left out for now because the threads could not be checked live.
  • Navigation: a new "Community" group with Showcase and Wall of love. Roadmap stays under Resources, and no URL changes.
  • README and introduction: the README line names the strongest verified users and links to both pages. The introduction gets a text-only "used by" banner (docs/snippets/used-by.jsx, no logos) and a row of three short quotes.

Text and links only, no company logos.

Verification of the listed projects

Every open source entry was checked against the default branch of its repo on 2026-10-29: the dependency is current and sits in an app or library module, not only in a sample or test. Relabeled entries:

  • Thunderbird: FileKit Core is used in the logging stack that both the Thunderbird and K-9 Mail apps depend on, and it is on main since Thunderbird 26. The page says it is currently in Daily builds.
  • Spotube: FileKit is only in the Kotlin Multiplatform rewrite.
  • Moved repos: Hammer Editor and the N7ghtm4r3 client repos now point to their current locations.
  • Ashampoo: the old product link returned a 404 and is replaced.

Removed because the dependency could not be proven or the repo is gone: Brownie, HowMarket, EasyWatermark, and colorpicker-compose (FileKit is only in its demo app).

Validation

  • mint broken-links: no broken links.
  • Rendered with mint dev and checked the showcase, wall of love and introduction in light and dark mode, at desktop and mobile widths.
  • Every external link on the two pages returns HTTP 200 (115 URLs).

No code changes, so no Gradle tasks were run.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated the introduction and README to highlight projects using FileKit and feature attributed community quotes.
    • Expanded the showcase with categorized project listings, descriptions, source links, and updated submission guidance.
    • Added a wall of love featuring quotes from public posts, issues, and discussions, with links for sharing feedback and listing projects.
    • Updated the documentation navigation to group the showcase and wall of love under Community.

Rework the showcase into three tiers (trusted by, open source apps
sorted by stars, commercial apps), each entry with a usage note and a
public source. Add a wall of love page with quote cards, a Community
nav group, and refresh the README and introduction.

Expose the star counts to screen readers.

Each badge uses alt="GitHub stars", so screen readers cannot read the count in the Stars column. Use text counts or synchronized text alternatives for all badges. (w3.org)
