「入力されなかった」ではなく Keys (キー入力) が文字入力にならない、などの意味になりそうです
普通の人の入力の意図は、人間のキー押し下げを意味しがちなので...
あるいは文字入力にならなかったキー押し下げは...とするとかでしょうか?
見直しはしたほうがいいかなと思います

うーん、ここちょっと難しいですね...。今自分はパッとこの文が具体的にどういう挙動を指してるのか汲み取れなくて、なんとも言えないです 🙇

テキトー訳かましてました。
えーと、足されたのは 9.2.0985 ですね。
丁寧に説明すると、
「(プロンプト表示中に)対象外のキーを押すと、プロンプト(入力待ち状態)は解除され、そのキーは通常モードのコマンドとしてそのまま実行される。」
ですね。しかもこれマッピングだけでの話。。
載せる訳文としてはどうすりゃいいんだ？(一晩寝かしてみよう)
