Desync occurs consistently during combat whenever a bullet hits a pawn or animal. The issue is specifically triggered by projectile impacts, not melee. This happens with both hostile pawns and wild animals. The desync manifests as an "Inconsistent player map" error in the server log, followed by repeated "Simulation paused because some players are too far behind" messages.
RimWorld Version:
1.6.4871 rev591
Multiplayer Mod Version:
0.11.5+4a3be27-dirty
Does the issue/desync happen when only Harmony and the Multiplayer mod are enabled?
No – I have not yet tested with only these two mods enabled. The issue occurs with the full mod list below.
Have you both tried to resubscribe/redownload the mods?
Yes
Have you both tried to delete the "data" folder found in RimWorld's directory and verified the integrity of the game afterwards?
Yes
Are you all running the same language for RimWorld?
Yes, English
Mod List:
(Provide a full list of active mods. You can export this from RimWorld's mod menu or use a tool like RimSort. Include version numbers where possible.)
Key mods involved:
Combat Extended (with Multiplayer Compat)
Enemy Self Preservation
No One Left Behind
Multiplayer Compatibility Desync Fix
Multiplayer Compatibility by Charlotte
Steps to Reproduce:
Host a multiplayer game with the mods listed above.
Initiate combat with a raid or wild animals.
Fire any ranged weapon at a pawn or animal.
Observe desync immediately upon bullet impact.
Expected Behavior:
Bullet impacts should be synchronized across all clients without causing a desync.
Actual Behavior:
Upon bullet impact, the game desyncs. The server log shows:
MpServerLog Error: Inconsistent player frogenjoyer map. Last known map: 3, however received command with transition: -1 -> 3
Repeated MpServerLog: Simulation paused because some players are too far behind: frogenjoyer
Logs Attached:
Player.log (host) – attached as Player.log
MpDesyncs logs – I cannot locate this folder on my machine. See note below.
Client logs – Will provide upon request.
Additional Notes:
I am the host and cannot find the MpDesyncs folder in the expected location next to my saves folder. The Player.log is the only log I have access to.
The Player.log contains numerous lines from the Multiplayer Compatibility Desync Fix mod showing RNG isolation for pawn flight, filth, and construction. It also shows an exception when loading compatibility for fluffy.pharmacist.
The desync appears to be related to a known issue: #604 "Bullet Entity Collision Random State Desync" .
