lancedb 0.40.0 pins lance-core/lance-linalg 13.0.0, which already ships a non-SIMD fallback for architectures other than x86_64/aarch64/ loongarch64 (lance-linalg's build.rs sets cfg(simd_fallback) and lance-core's SIMD_SUPPORT has a trailing arm), so the 0.39.0 patches are obsolete and do not apply (the f32/f64/i32 hunks collide with the upstream fallback). Skip the patch and lance checkout steps when a version has no patch directory.
