Compiles Dynamo's Rust runtime (dynamo._core, pyo3 abi3) - the CPU-side request plane, KV router and discovery, with CUDA loaded only at runtime and NIXL stubbed exactly as upstream's own wheel is. Upstream publishes no riscv64 wheel.

Mirrors the runtime_wheel_builder stage of upstream's wheel_builder.Dockerfile, same maturin features.

Differs from upstream

  • manylinux_2_39_riscv64 image instead of manylinux_2_28
  • protoc from Rocky CRB - upstream's protoc release zip has no riscv64 build

Matrix: one abi3 wheel; tested on 3.12/3.13/3.14 (no cp314t: abi3 and pydantic-core).

Testing

  • bindings tests selected with upstream's CPU markers (pre_merge and gpu_0)
  • NATS and etcd from Ubuntu packages, which the bindings' autouse fixture needs
  • test_kserve_grpc.py ignored - needs tritonclient[grpc], which upstream gets from framework images

License: Wheel bundles third-party Rust crate licences, generated by upstream's own bundle_wheel_notices step.

Patches

  • 0001-bindings-use-nixl-sys-stub-api-on-riscv64.patch - Inappropriate [nixl-sys get_arch() panics on riscv64 before its stub fallback; real fix belongs in ai-dynamo/nixl]. Riscv64-only.

Built on cp312.

The bindings test directory also holds tests for the separate ai-dynamo
package: tests/replay/ and test_deprecated_enable_nats.py import
dynamo.mocker, dynamo.replay and dynamo.common, which ship in ai-dynamo
(components/src/dynamo), not in ai-dynamo-runtime. Upstream runs them in
an image with both installed; here they fail collection and abort the
whole session. Ignore them.

dynamo.nixl_connect hard-imports torch, which upstream's test image
provides, so test_nixl_connect_lazy_import.py errors at fixture setup
without it. Install torch (riscv64 wheels are on pypi.riseproject.dev).
