# Goodnight Moon

Goodnight moon in the velvet sky,
Goodnight clouds that softly drift by,
Goodnight stars that shimmer and gleam,
Goodnight world on the edge of a dream.

Goodnight owls in the old oak tree,
Goodnight wind that hums quietly,
Goodnight cricket with your gentle song,
Goodnight shadows, stretching long.

Goodnight fireflies, fading slow,
Goodnight river with your silver glow,
Goodnight meadow wrapped in dew,
Goodnight moon — I whisper to you.

Goodnight blanket, warm and deep,
Goodnight eyelids, close to sleep,
The moon keeps watch through the quiet night,
And holds us all in her pale, soft light.
