A place to track issues with The C# Player's Guide for patches and future editions.
The following items are things I want to do before calling the current version a beta:
- Some cleanup for the challenges in the second half of Part 2. Conceptually, they won't change much, but I can do better than what some of those currently do, I think.
- Splitting Part 2 into two parts (so Part 3 will become Part 4, and Part 4 will become Part 5, which is going to make a mess of some of the discussions here in Discord, because now it will depend on which version of the book you're on).
- I want to put in some things for when a new person joins your party and when you pick up key items that is along the lines of "[X] joined your party!" and "You got the [X]!".
- There are a couple of other story-related tweaks I want to put in there to tie off some loose ends in my mind, including a prologue.
- I think I still want to add in (very short) story-related epigraphs at the beginning of each chapter. If you've read Brandon Sanderson, you've seen some of these little one-liners (usually) at the start of each chapter. It's a way to do some story-building without it being so heavy handed.
- I think I went overboard on the story in Part 1. I'm mostly okay with it, but I think I need to do some revision to trim out the fat. I probably don't want literal pages of narrative sections, and I've got that in one or two spots. Perhaps the epigraphs can offset that a bit, by being an alternative way to build up the world and lore.
- I know I need to make a revised map, which will take a bit of time to think through. It's not just new chapters. The "advanced features" is now presented in the book as a single, small island. You don't visit different islands, but different villages on a single island. The map should reflect that. (Among other changes.)
- Fix any incomplete speed runs.
- Add the pictures to the Cerulean Forge overview.
- I've wanted to add in "Tactics" sections that summarize when to use one thing over another (like full properties vs. auto-properties, or public vs. private). These are intended to be one- or two-sentence summaries that supplement the longer description in the text.
