fylr-plugin-remote

A fylr plugin that loads external Javascript and CSS files into the web frontend, for example a stylesheet with the own CSS of an instance.

It is the fylr version of the easydb5 plugin easydb-remote-plugin and keeps its plugin name, so an instance that used the easydb plugin gets its configuration back once this one is installed.

Configuration

The files are configured in the base configuration of the plugin (plugin manager, tab "Config"), in the table "Remote URLs". Each row has two settings, both optional:

• Javascript: url of a script, added to the page as a script tag.
• CSS: url of a stylesheet, added to the page as a link tag.

The files are loaded when the frontend starts, in the order of the rows. The stylesheets come after the CSS of the frontend, so their rules win at the same specificity. The urls must be reachable from the browsers of the users. After a change in the table the frontend has to be reloaded.

Install it from the plugin catalog in the plugin manager, or by url:

Built by fylr-build-plugin, see there for how a fylr plugin is structured. The Makefile is a thin shim, run make for the target list. For development, point the fylr server at the build folder in fylr.yml:

Releasing

A manager publishes a release on the GitHub release page (tag vX.Y.Z); the workflow builds the plugin zip and attaches it to the release.
