What this is

past.dev for Cursor 0.1.0: a Cursor plugin, and the marketplace that carries it. Your Cursor chats become memory, and every prompt reaches the model with what past.dev recalls for it.

• Hooks (plugins/past/hooks/hooks.json): workspaceOpen, sessionStart, beforeSubmitPrompt, afterAgentResponse, stop.
• Recall in front of every prompt, returned by the prompt hook as additional_context; the chat's first prompt also carries the project's brief.
• A journal per chat, written by the hooks as they fire: the prompt as typed and the reply as shown, timed by this machine's clock. One detached sender sends a chat in sittings once it has been quiet for 30 minutes, so a sitting already sent never changes.
• past_recall, a local MCP server served by the same script, and an always-applied rule that says when to use it.
• Skills: /past-connect, /past-status, /past-cut, /past-ingest.
• One script, plugins/past/bin/past-hook.mjs: Node 16 or later, no dependencies.

README.md is the front page, AGENTS.md holds the rules the code keeps and how to test it, including the check to run after each Cursor release.

How it was checked

• The script against a local stand-in for the API under a throwaway home, on Node 22 and 16: recall and the brief, the journal, sittings and the sender, the recall tool, connect's refusals.
• Installed as a local plugin in Cursor 3.24.9: recall reached the model before it answered, past_recall answered, /past-ingest sent at once, and the sender sent a chat 30 minutes after its last event.
• .github/workflows/check.yml: the script parses on Node 14 and runs on 16 and 22, and the manifests hold together.

Not run yet

The marketplace install itself (Customize, or agent plugin marketplace add https://github.com/pastdotdev/cursor-plugin), which needs this repository readable by the person installing.

One commit on top of the empty initial commit. Rebase or squash keeps main at those two commits.
