## Unreleased

- Background Items marks items left over from a deleted app, whose program is no longer on the Mac, and has a minus button to stop one and move it to the Trash, from where it can be dragged back. `removemacai background` marks them as left over too (#66).
- The app has a Check for Updates… item in the RemoveMacAI menu. It asks GitHub for the latest release and offers to open its download page. It only checks when you choose it, so RemoveMacAI still makes no network requests on its own (#44).
- The app has an Install Command Line Tool… item in the RemoveMacAI menu. It asks first, then links `/usr/local/bin/removemacai` to the app, so the app from the zip gets the `removemacai` command too. It never replaces a file there that isn't a link (#60).
- `removemacai background` with an action other than `off` or `on`, such as the typo `of`, now fails and says which actions it takes, instead of listing the items and exiting 0 (#82).

Account for options that consume operands before selecting the script.

BackgroundItems.scan() passes launchd ProgramArguments to BackgroundItem. For ["/usr/bin/perl", "-I", "/missing/lib", "/existing/script.pl"], isLeftover selects /missing/lib as the script. Perl uses -I to consume that argument, so the actual script is /existing/script.pl. A runnable item can therefore be marked as leftover.

The UI exposes the Trash button and BackgroundItems.trash can call launchctl bootout and move the plist. The existing -c/-e guard does not prevent this case. Use interpreter-specific option parsing.

Review comment at @Sources/removemacai/BackgroundItems.swift around lines 29 -

Update the interpreter handling in `isLeftover` to skip option operands before
selecting the script; specifically, for Perl, treat the argument following `-I`
as an option operand rather than the script. Return false if the option lacks
its required operand, and preserve the existing `-c`/`-e` guard and behavior for
other interpreters.

Skip the inaccessible-path check when the self-test runs as root.

Root bypasses the 0o000 permission on locked. stat on locked/helper then fails with ENOENT, so confirmedMissing returns true. The negated assertion fails and selftest reports a failure.

selfTest is meant to run as root as well. The journal test in this file already guards its permission-based check with if getuid() != 0, and Shell.admin handles getuid() == 0. Apply the same guard here. Keep the nonexistent-path assertion unconditional.
