8 years building backend systems that scale. Currently an Associate Lead Engineer at AD Group (Australia), where I lead development on cloud-native microservices platform using Laravel, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch.
I've led teams of 20+, owned backend architecture end-to-end, and driven hiring and onboarding from the ground up. My stack runs deep: PHP/Laravel at the core, layered with Docker, Redis, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and CI/CD pipelines built for high-throughput, distributed systems.
Lately I've been going deep on agentic AI. Building with Claude Code, MCP servers, and spec-driven development workflows. I believe the next phase of backend engineering is less about writing every line and more about designing systems where AI agents handle the heavy lifting.
