Lead Full-Stack Engineer — PHP · WordPress · Applied AI
Building web platforms since 2008. These days I lead engineering on WordPress-based products, run a small consultancy, and contribute to FAIR — the community's federated alternative to WordPress.org.
Most of my work lives at the intersection of WordPress internals, platform performance, and locally-hosted AI — open-weight models, embeddings and vector search running on your own infrastructure rather than someone else's API.
| Project | What it is |
|---|---|
| Cassette CMF · cassettecmf.com | Content-modelling framework for WordPress plugin developers. Declarative API registers post types, taxonomies, fields and settings pages from one config. 18 core field types, modular Composer packages. |
| Reasoning.md | Keeps the reasoning behind AI-assisted code in the repo instead of a chat log. Hooks into Git to capture sessions from Claude Code, Codex and Copilot, and commits them beside the code they explain. Fully local. |
| MinimalCMS | Database-free CMS. Flat-file storage, hooks and filters, plugin/theme APIs, user roles — WordPress architecture without the SQL. |
Also contributing to WordPress Core since 2014.
Two ad-management plugins, maintained for the long haul.
- WP-Insert — mine since 2009.
- Quick AdSense — adopted in 2017 and brought back to active maintenance.
- SwiftForms — lightweight WordPress form builder with native Gutenberg integration.
- WP Hook Permissions — tracks every
add_action()andadd_filter()call, attributes each callback to its source, and lets admins allow or deny hooks per plugin. - Smart Table Block · Film Strip Slider · Multi Block Styles — Gutenberg blocks, built on the Interactivity API with zero external dependencies.
- AI & LLM — local open-weight models, retrieval pipelines and agentic coding workflows
- Backend — REST API design · auth and role systems · caching · queues · service decomposition · horizontal scaling
- Platform — WordPress core, plugins and themes · WordPress VIP · Gutenberg · WP-CLI · CI/CD
Open to interesting work — remote, US & EU hours.
