Change Summary

A DAG containing only independent tasks raises No root task found, and an independent task alongside a connected branch is omitted from the returned results. An explicit next: [] also loses the task's terminal output.

Build the DAG node set from task entries rather than edge endpoints, exclude workflow configuration metadata, and select all zero-indegree roots. Add local workflow-loader regressions using the built-in identity CodeAgent, covering isolated tasks, connected graphs and the existing no-root cycle error.

Validation

  • Identical new workflow tests: base 6 failed / 5 passed; fix 11 passed, including two cycle subtests.
  • Separately authored fixed-data oracle: base 3/8; fix 8/8. Existing message/plan/text regressions: 35 passed. No live model calls.
  • Configured changed-file pre-commit hooks, workflow-wide flake8/isort/yapf and compile checks pass.
  • Full-repository pre-commit run --all-files fails on the same existing flake8/isort/yapf/whitespace/quote issues in both the unmodified base and the patched copy. These unrelated files are unchanged in this PR.

Checklist

  • The pull request title is a good summary of the changes.
  • Unit tests for the changes exist.
  • Run pre-commit install and pre-commit run --all-files before git commit, and passed lint check. Hooks were installed and both runs were completed; the full-repository baseline failures described above remain.
  • No commands or configuration options were added that require documentation changes.
