osrlib 2.3.0 lets each party member stand at their own distance in a battle (issue #209). A member can close in and attack in one round, and a thief can close and back-stab in the free round after a surprise. Monsters close on the nearest member they can see and strike only the front rank within reach. The encounter view and
preview_battle_roundgive a battle screen what it needs. The release also adds the quest-item refusal forRemoveMemberand fixes a crash with an ignored magic shield that was present in 2.2.0. The changelog section lists everything.Battles are deadlier, because monsters strike the round they arrive. The Snoring King's bot won 20 of 30 games on 2.2.0. On 2.3.0 it won 0 while each member closed alone, and 20 once members held the line until they could reach.
