How do I locate the JDK in VS code?

I installed Java for VS code using the Java installer from the VS code website. It installed the JDK (Eclipse Temurin JDK with hotspot) and other extensions for the VS code. But when I launched it, it showed that the JDK is not configured. I tried to find the path of the JDK everywhere in C drive, but couldn't find it anywhere.

Looking for a solution if anyone already fixed this kind of issue. Please reach out to me in reply.

could you paste where you downloaded the Java installer? and also could you please share your environment information (such as operating system, etc?)

nickzhums I downloaded the installer in the usual downloads folder. (But I don't have any idea about where it got installed since there was no option to select path).
The environment I'm in s -
windows 10 x64 OS

what's the "usual downloads folder" ? which installer did you use? Did you use the coding pack for Java?

I meant the DOWNLOADS folder of any windows computer.
And yes, I used the CODING PACK for JAVA.

BTW, This is the configuration window inside VS Code where it prompted to configure the path.

Did you check your "Program Files" folder, that's usually where JDK lives. for example: C:\Program Files\AdoptOpenJDK\jdk-11.0.11.9-hotspot

The folder "AdoptOpen JDK" doesn't exist in the "Program files". That's the problem.

I'm just giving out an example here, it might not be "AdoptOpenJDK". For Eclipse Temurin JDK, it might be some other name :) Have you tried looked up their JDK documentation ?

The default location of Eclipse Temurin should be C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Programs.

#967 (comment) tells that in your settings, java.home is pointing to an invalid location, and that's the root cause. You can remove it from your settings file and reload window, which should fix your problem.

I'm interested in it because it's a deprecated setting, did you add that setting by your own?

No, I didn't add that setting on my own. It was there already.
And should I just delete the whole <java.home> line from the settings file?

I'll try to find the Eclipse Temurin at the address you mentioned.
