Sidebar and comments improvements, each in its own commit:

  • Comments beside the text. A comment or suggestion on a selection is written in a composer next to the passage. Commented lines get a margin mark (with a count when several share a line), hovering a passage shows who said what, and the active thread's passage stands out. F7 / Shift+F7 step through comments; Ctrl/⌘+Shift+M shows the panel.
  • What is new. Threads others wrote in since the manuscript was last opened in this browser are marked new, and the list can be filtered to new, mine, or one person's. Comment text renders light Markdown. The whole-record button now says what it does.
  • Sources. Library sources list by modification date (most recent first). An expanded source names the sections that cite it. A search of three letters or more also reads Reader highlights, once typing pauses, and lists matches under "In highlights".
  • Outline. A quiet comment count or problem dot beside a section's words, only when present. Chapters fold their headings away unless being written. Rename a chapter in place with double-click or F2.
  • Sidebar. Opens on the outline per manuscript. A split button shows a second panel beneath. Hiding the sidebar leaves a rail of its tabs with counts. The phone tab is named Sidebar and carries the open-comment count.

Verified in headless Chromium on the demo: pnpm check, baseline (32 steps) and reliability (21 steps) suites pass.

…s, newness

A comment or suggestion on a selection is written beside the passage
rather than in the sidebar. Commented lines are marked in the editor's
margin, hovering a passage shows who said what, and the active thread's
passage stands out. Threads others wrote in since the manuscript was
last opened here are marked new, and the list filters to new, mine or
one person's. Comment text renders its emphasis, code and links. The
whole-record button says what it is.
…xt search

Library sources list by the collection's modification time. An expanded
source names the sections that cite it, each a link. A search of three
letters or more, once typing pauses, also reads every source's Reader
highlights and lists the ones whose text matches.
A section with open comments shows a small count beside its words, one
with problems a dot. A book's chapters fold their headings away unless
being written. A chapter is renamed in place (double-click or F2),
in its frontmatter title or its opening heading.
…dden

A manuscript opens on its outline and remembers its tab for the page's
lifetime. A split button shows a second panel under the first, so the
outline and comments read together. Hiding the sidebar leaves a rail of
its tabs with counts. The phone tab is called Sidebar and carries the
open-comment count. Mod-Shift-M shows comments; F7 steps through them.
