It would be great to add a dedicated Avalonia skill/package to the Desktop & UI collection.
Avalonia is currently not available in the dotnet skills UI/catalog, despite being a major cross-platform .NET desktop framework. The catalog already supports several UI frameworks, so Avalonia would fit naturally alongside WPF, WinUI, MAUI and Uno Platform.
Suggested coverage:
- Avalonia 11/12 project structure
- XAML and compiled bindings
- MVVM and
CommunityToolkit.Mvvm
StyledProperty / DirectPropertyDataTemplate / ControlTemplate- commands and bindings
- UI thread /
Dispatcher
- application lifetime and windows/dialogs
- custom controls
- themes/resources
- cross-platform Windows/Linux/macOS behavior
- trimming / Native AOT
- packaging and publishing
It would also be useful if dotnet skills recommend / install --auto could detect Avalonia packages such as Avalonia, Avalonia.Desktop or Avalonia.Controls and recommend/install the skill automatically.
