I'm a security engineer at Orange Cyberdefense in the Netherlands. My work sits where networking, zero trust and automation meet, and I live by one rule: if it isn't automated, it isn't done.

I also write at plugntroubleshoot.eu, where I work through troubleshooting problems so others don't have to.

My homelab runs Proxmox on an Intel NUC, with a mix of LXCs and a Docker host VM on UniFi networking. Almost all of it is defined as code: OpenTofu for provisioning and Ansible for configuration.

Tailscale ties it all together. It lets me reach everything without opening ports to the internet, and it's where ScaleTail came from. The project now lives under the tailscale-dev organization, and in January 2026 it earned me a spot as a Tailscale Insider.

I started out keeping digital systems running for studios that streamed to the internet, learning from Roland Sellis and Arno Kouters, two people who truly loved their craft. Curiosity about the hacker side of things led me to study Information Security Management, and from there I worked as a SOC analyst, a security consultant, and IT security manager at a hospital. That last role taught me that security decisions are never just technical; in healthcare they affect patient safety.

Today I specialize in network operations, because a solid grasp of TCP/IP is the best foundation for everything else in security.

Gym, films, series and music. I picked up FL Studio during COVID and still make beats when I feel like doing something creative.
