Insiders Feedback: Disable interactive PR creation form #3470
Second this! The agent running on auto mode now gets stuck. It opens up a form, but doesn't realize when I have submitted any action on it, and is just stuck "thinking" until I manually stop it.
I'm using Visual Studio Code's github copilot extension and this MCP update has scuppered productivity.
It'll display a poorly-dimensioned dialog within the chat window, making it hard to see what's going on, and if you do "press the button", nothing proceeds - the AI just hangs, like it's still waiting.
Worse, if you later scroll back up to see your history, up pops the MCP dialog again within the chat history, asking you to do it again.
So it seems that it "doesn't notice" when you push "ok" (or whatever the JFDI button is) and so it tells AI it needs to keep waiting for the human and it keeps on asking the human.
IME a good workaround is to instruct CoPilot to use the gh command-line instead of the MCP.
Additional report: form never visible in Cursor IDE agent
Host: Cursor IDE (agent chat in the editor), not VS Code Copilot Agents window.
What happens:
Agent calls create_pull_request via the GitHub MCP server.
Tool result instructs the agent to STOP and wait for an interactive form (awaiting_user_submission).
No form is rendered in the Cursor IDE agent UI — the user never sees a create-PR widget.
The PR is never created until the agent falls back to gh pr create.
Impact: Breaks the agent PR flow for anyone using Cursor’s IDE agent with GitHub MCP. The agent is told a form was shown; the user sees nothing.
Related: same class of “form deferred but not shown” as #2930 / this issue’s “for a brief period PRs could not be created because the form did not appear”.
Workaround used: create the PR with gh pr create instead of the MCP tool.
Please treat Cursor IDE agent as a host that currently does not reliably surface MCP App forms, or document / default mcp_apps_disable_form_deferral for non-rendering hosts so write tools execute directly.

while vibe coders may like it, developers who run autonomous workflows certainly don't - make it optional please
