- Line 1031: Update the exception handling in call_runner so
SignerRefreshRequired triggers a retry only when raised by get_payment; allow
exceptions from on_payment_session to propagate without entering the signer
refresh flow.

call_runner takes on_payment_session, called with each session the signer signs, before the paid request goes out. A caller can link a charge to the call that caused it, including a call that fails after the signer has signed. LivePaymentSession.manifest_id is the manifest from the 402 challenge, so the session is identified without reading the signer's state.

Closing this in favor of NE-Build-Track#1. That pull request now includes the same payment-reporting fixes through e6d243b, merged onto releases/m2. The upstream proposal remains livepeer#77. |
Summary
call_runner(..., on_payment_session=callback)callscallback(session), sync or async, for each session the signer signs, before the paid request is sent.LivePaymentSession.manifest_idis the manifest ID from the 402 challenge that session pays for. It does not read the signer's state.Reported: every signed session, including one whose payment proves unusable, one followed by a runner failure, and each new session after a repeated 402. Fixed-price calls report too.
Not reported: sessions the signer refuses, including refresh requests.
If the callback raises, the paid request is not sent and the error reaches the caller unchanged,
SignerRefreshRequiredincluded. It does not restart the payment challenge. The caller owns the list, so a cancelled call still accounts for every session it signed.
This replaces livepeer#71. The same commit is proposed against
