k8s.io/kubernetes was bumped from v1.34.2 to v1.37.1, but the k8s.io staging modules (api, apimachinery, client-go, cli-runtime, component-base, component-helpers, kubectl, metrics, streaming) all remain pinned at v0.36.0 (lines 83-93). Kubernetes v1.37.x expects its staging modules at v0.37.x. Since k8s.io/kubernetes uses internal replace directives that are NOT inherited by consumers (since Go 1.17), the consumer must explicitly pin staging module versions. The blank import of k8s.io/kubernetes/cmd/kubectl will pull in code that uses v0.37.x staging APIs, which may not exist in v0.36.0, likely causing a build failure.

Suggested fix: Update all k8s.io staging modules in tools/kubectl/go.mod to v0.37.x to match k8s.io/kubernetes v1.37.1. At minimum update: k8s.io/api, k8s.io/apimachinery, k8s.io/cli-runtime, k8s.io/client-go, k8s.io/component-base, k8s.io/component-helpers, k8s.io/kubectl, k8s.io/metrics, and k8s.io/streaming to their v0.37.x versions. Then run go mod tidy in tools/kubectl/.
