A fast, native Markdown (.md) viewer for Windows.
ReadMark opens Markdown files and renders them, with tabs, a navigation sidebar, Source view, find, and print. It's built natively for Windows on .NET 8 and WebView2.
This repository is the public home for ReadMark downloads, issue tracking, and documentation. ReadMark is proprietary software, so the application source code is not distributed here (see License).
- Opens
.mdfiles from Explorer, "Open with", drag & drop, or the command line. - Renders GitHub Flavored Markdown (tables, task lists, footnotes, alerts, emoji, …) or strict CommonMark, switchable at runtime.
- Tabs for multiple documents: drag to reorder, right-click for more, and browser-style shortcuts.
- A navigation sidebar with an Outline of the document's headings and a Files view of the Markdown files.
- Back and Forward through the links you follow (Alt+Left / Alt+Right).
- Find with every match highlighted and a match count, Go to line.
- Detects the file's encoding, including legacy code pages, and lets you reopen a document in another encoding when it reads wrong.
- Shows word, character, and line counts plus file details in the status bar.
- Print through a custom print dialog with preview.
- Light / Dark appearance, plus Modern and Classic themes.
- Remembers recent files and, optionally, restores your open tabs.
- Private by design: no telemetry, no cloud, no account. An optional Privacy mode also blocks remote images and asks before any link leaves ReadMark.
