Summary

  • Add a booth-only QR overlay in the top-right corner across all routes.
  • Link the QR to CodeRabbit with booth UTM attribution.
  • Add a Swift helper to regenerate the QR image and document how to update it.

Validation

  • Tests and runtime checks were not run.

Closes #88

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Booth mode now displays a QR code panel in the top-right corner on every route, with a “Scan to Learn More” prompt and destination branding.
    • The QR code links to a tracked page so visits from booth displays can be identified. The panel does not block mouse interactions.
  • Documentation
    • Added guidance for updating the QR code destination and its tracking information, including regenerating the code and rebuilding the app.

📝 Walkthrough

The app displays a QR panel in the top-right corner while booth mode is active. The QR image uses booth attribution parameters. A Swift tool and build documentation support regenerating the image.

Changes: Booth QR display

Layer / File(s) Summary
Booth-mode QR overlay
hoppys-adventure-arcade/app/app_router.gd, hoppys-adventure-arcade/app/booth_qr_overlay.gd, hoppys-adventure-arcade/app/booth_qr_overlay.gd.uid
AppRouter creates the overlay and shows it when booth mode is active. The overlay displays a heading, QR image, and attribution label in a mouse-ignoring top-right panel.
QR generation and update support
hoppys-adventure-arcade/tools/booth/generate_qr.swift, hoppys-adventure-arcade/Assets/booth/*.import, docs/builds.md
The Swift tool generates a QR PNG with a centered logo. The import settings configure the QR and logo textures. The build documentation describes the destination, attribution, and regeneration process.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple) | ~10 minutes

Change: Feature

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to fcab2

The booth overlay has bounded scanning-reliability risk from insufficient QR clearance. Add the required margin and disclose that regeneration requires macOS; these are localized fixes.

### Architecture Summary

  • observed — docs (service) was modified; 1 changed file maps to changed impact.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in hoppys-adventure-arcade/app/app_router.gd: Adds a preload for the booth QR overlay script.
  • observed — Modified behavior in hoppys-adventure-arcade/app/app_router.gd: Adds a Control field to hold the booth QR overlay.
  • observed — Modified behavior in hoppys-adventure-arcade/app/app_router.gd: Creates the QR overlay during initialization, hides it initially, and adds it to the router.
  • observed — Modified behavior in hoppys-adventure-arcade/app/app_router.gd: set_booth now sets the QR overlay's visibility to the booth-mode value when the overlay exists.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes stay within #88. The router integration, overlay UI, QR assets and import settings, Swift generator, asset UID, and build documentation all support displaying, updating, or packaging the booth QR code. No unrelated change is established by the available whole-PR summary.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

No functions found in the changed files to evaluate docstring coverage. Skipping docstring coverage check. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 0 functions across 1 files. (5 skipped: 5 unsupported.)

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description explains the main changes, links issue #88, and reports validation status. It does not use the required Testing, Screenshots / video, or Checklist sections. The visual change requires screenshots or video, and the testing section must state the commands and results or explicitly document that no tests were run.

Resolution

Update the description to include the required Testing, Screenshots / video, and Checklist sections. Add screenshots or video of the booth QR overlay, record the commands and results for runtime checks, and complete the checklist items.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

The reviewed changes implement the main #88 requirements: AppRouter toggles a booth QR overlay, the overlay places the panel at the top right, and the Swift tool plus docs/builds.md document the https://coderabbit.link/ato26-ad?qr=1 destination and regeneration process. The QR PNG files are excluded from review, so the encoded destination and image scannability cannot be verified. The summary also does not establish that the panel avoids important gameplay content at the expected display distance.

Resolution

Provide reviewable evidence for the encoded QR destination and the rendered panel's scannability, size, and non-obscuring placement. The excluded PNG assets or independent runtime/image evidence are required to decide the remaining #88 acceptance criteria.

- **Fullscreen.** The game starts fullscreen without changing the saved settings.
- **Booth QR code.** A scannable CodeRabbit link stays in the top-right corner on every route in booth mode. Its URL includes `utm_source=booth`, `utm_medium=qr` and `utm_campaign=hoppys_adventure_arcade`. To change the destination or attribution, regenerate `hoppys-adventure-arcade/Assets/booth/booth_qr.png` from the repository root with `swift hoppys-adventure-arcade/tools/booth/generate_qr.swift` and pass the output path and URL as optional arguments, then rebuild the game.

State the macOS requirement for QR regeneration.

The command cannot run on Linux or Windows because generate_qr.swift imports AppKit. State that QR regeneration requires macOS, or provide a portable alternative. (developer.apple.com)

🌐 Web query:

Apple Core Image CIFilter qrCodeGenerator output image extent quiet zone border documentation

💡 Result:

Apple’s documentation **doesn’t specify a quiet-zone or border size** for `CIQRCodeGenerator`. It documents the message and correction-level inputs, and says the filter generates a QR-code image with each module one point wide and high. ([developer.apple.com](https://developer.apple.com/library/archive/documentation/GraphicsImaging/Reference/CoreImageFilterReference/?utm_source=openai))

To determine the actual image dimensions, inspect `outputImage.extent` for the generated image; Apple documents `outputImage` as the filter’s `CIImage` result. ([developer.apple.com](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/coreimage/cifilter-swift.class/outputimage?changes=_3_10&utm_source=openai)) The docs don’t establish how much of that extent, if any, is quiet zone. If you need a specific border, add it yourself.

Add a four-module quiet zone before regenerating the QR asset.

The helper can regenerate a QR image with only a one-module border. The displayed asset adds only about three modules between the QR symbol and the adjacent labels. This does not preserve the required four-module quiet zone and can reduce scanning reliability in booth mode.

lines 31 - 32:
Update the QR image composition around qr.draw(in:) to preserve the QR symbol’s
original dimensions and center it within a white canvas with a four-module quiet
zone on every side; then regenerate the booth QR asset.
