memory leak

Let's start a place to keep details about this as it does not have an easy answer.

Issue

Long-running sessions over many context clears shows increasing use of memory. On several occasions 3code has maxed out my 52 GB of ram and the terminal was forced closed by the OS. It is observable on other projects in 3code over several context clears, that the memory footprint is continually increasing.

Investigation

I haven't tried anything yet, but compiling under other schemes such as ORC probably won't help but worth a shot.
