Summary
Rename
dev/to root-levelbrowser-host/so the privileged Node host is clearly separate from shared browser-compatible application code (src/) and the native Rust host (src-tauri/). Move the developer-settings Vite plugin and live setup probe, with their tests, toscripts/.This is a mechanical naming/layout change, not host consolidation. Browser capabilities, native behavior, endpoint URLs, environment variables, credential namespaces and runtime defaults are unchanged. No compatibility directory or new runtime is added.
@ts-expect-errorcomments to the module-specifier line; no test assertions were removed.Validation
335c378dd9ef42fff2a423c4dba40a7f7edbf454, mandatory push hooks passed TypeScript, the full Vitest suite, design checks and workspace Clippy. Precommit formatting/lint passed. Vitest file discovery maps exactly across the rename: 564 files before and after.03120fb5: full Node integration run 201 passed, 3 existing opt-in skips; completenew-message.spec.mjs4 passed across Chromium and WebKit, exercising the real Node broker with synthetic identities/upstreams;pnpm probe:live --helppassed. Subsequent changes were formatting and TypeScript-directive placement only.Open PR migration
Existing host files move from
dev/<name>tobrowser-host/<name>at the same depth. Tooling moves arescripts/developer-settings.{ts,test.mjs}andscripts/live-setup-probe{,.test}.mjs. Rebase with rename detection, then inspect added/deleted files and imports rather than recreatingdev/.Directly overlapping open PRs: #295, #427, #324, #122, #695. Their inspected heads remain unchanged since the earlier assessment. #295 and #427 add/remove modules and need explicit new-path reconciliation. #324's probe edits belong in
scripts/. #122 already has older stacked integration conflicts. #695's proposed WebKit diagnostic should live underscripts/wkprobe/, notbrowser-host/. No merge simulation or conflict-free claim is made.Human check
On this branch, run
pnpm probe:live --helpand confirm usage appears. Run your usualjust webworkflow without changing identity/environment, verify the app and Developer Settings load, and check that the layout makes the host boundary clear. No native identity switch or live write is needed for this rename. Please confirm before marking ready.
