Why Architecture?

En español: Leer en Español

Technical writing on software architecture for the AI era, distilled from more than 20 years of practice.

The current focus is the Evolith AI Career Path — a multi-year specialization route for evolving the Evolith suite into an AI-native platform — together with the glossary that makes its vocabulary accessible.

Table of Contents

Document Description
Evolith AI Career Path Current. Multi-year specialization route built from source inspection of the real Evolith Core/Tracker repos plus 10-domain research: 2–3 year career path, 12-month calendarized plan, technologies to master/know/watch/ignore, 8 Evolith-linked projects, a Core × Tracker × CLI × MCP × Agents knowledge matrix, and "The Future of Evolith".
Evolith — Assessment Start here for the diagnosis. What each component does well and badly, evidenced from source; a scorecard; the chain test showing where the product's claimed differentiator is severed; a SWOT; and a prioritised plan with the one sequencing mistake to avoid.
Evolith as a single product Whole-product positioning: the job it is hired for, why it replaces nothing and sells authority instead, why no component is defensible alone, the three complete alternatives it competes against — including "assemble it yourself", the real one — who buys it, and what must be true before the whole can be sold.
AI-native Glossary ~150 AI-era and standards terms — MCP, MRTR, SCIP, PROV-O, SCITT, constraint tax, TPR/TNR. One sentence and one example each, opening with the ten the argument rests on. Every technical term in the documents above links here.
Dim.SCM.Sample.xlsx Maturity level assignments across 16 quality axes for a real Supply Chain Management (SCM) system.

Every document carries a language switch in its own header. Spanish only: the superseded AI-native Route and Study Plan, replaced by the Career Path above.
