Scope
Draft protocol proposal: add MultimodalTable.predict(), REST submission, request/acceptance types and OpenAPI description. Reuses Catalog authentication; does not read rows or BLOBs locally. Preserves snapshot/tag selectors and rejects unsupported scan views. Keeps 404 errors distinct from unsupported 501 responses. POST is not automatically retried.
Not implemented
Model registration, service-side authorization/retention, durable job acceptance, dispatch and inference execution. The PredictTable action and wire contract require server coordination before use. This is not an end-to-end inference feature and should remain Draft.
Validation
7 tests passed: predict_test and rest_api_coverage_test (local HTTP submission, serialization, validation, no 503 retry, path/auth and OpenAPI coverage). git diff --check passed.
The existing resource_paths_test signature test has 12 subcase errors in this environment; the same errors reproduce on unmodified 0369648. No production service or inference call was made.
