Release sqlparser-rs version 0.64.0 around 2026-10-31 #2454
6. @LucaCappelletti94 what is your thinking about this release? Should we try and get it ready this week?
Yeah that is tentatively my idea, the CI empasse has slowed some things down but I think we can try and merge as many of the bug fix as we can, then I would do the parser module split, and that should be about it for this version.
I would try to target a fix to the datafusion bloat for the next version, and the tokenizer & traits refactoring only at some later date when a sufficient amount of the bugs is squashed.
DataFusion needed updates for the AST changes in this release (Expr::In, sqlite_table_options, index_directives, new Insert/Update/Delete fields, new JoinConstraint/ColumnOption/DataType variants), but with those changes all DataFusion unit tests and sqllogictests pass locally.
Good, I hoped to finish more stuff within the month but objectively the CI blockage was rather impactful and even rushing as much as I did I could not cover everything. Still, I hope it will translate in a a visible improvement bump in https://sql-ast-benchmark.luca.phd/ when I rerun it on the new version.
I guess likely November will end up being another month of parsing extension instead of the tokenizer refactoring I hoped for.
I reckon it is a non trivial extension of the AST parsing as it is, and several people besides me contributed PRs which I expect they look forward in using from crates, so I would refrain from postponing.
Also, as I extend the SQLippy work, I expect more AST things will come up.

sounds good -- I'll do some testing downstream later this week and then prepare a RC

We could postpone this release too if you wanted
