Release notes currently use the latest reachable tag and file statistics, so a failed publication can hide changes and the generator cannot verify commit messages against the code.

Select the highest reachable older published stable release with all four nonempty uploaded ZIP archives and SHA256SUMS, and generate equivalent EN/RU bullets from non-merge history and the actual net diff. Exclude historical notes and lock/sum files, reject context over 600,000 characters, and limit each language to 3,000 characters with instructions for concrete, one-sentence changes. Log the returned model, Git range and token usage.

Add node scripts/release.mjs notes-preview X.Y.Z [REF] [PREVIOUS_TAG] to preview without writing release files or publishing, and document the updated behavior. Follows andre487/AndroidMegaProxy#93.

Validation:

  • npm run lint
  • node --test tests/release.test.mjs tests/http-errors.test.mjs — 15 passed; API calls mocked.
  • Full unit run: 203/204 passed; tests/watch.test.mjs fails at assert.ok(calls >= 2) and also fails in isolation.
  • Baseline selection checked against GitHub for v1.2.3: selected v1.2.2. Live OpenAI generation was not run because OPENAI_API_KEY is unset.
