Screencasts recording guidelines
The Publicity Cabal has decided that it would be nice to record our sprint review presentations.
We concluded that instead of recording whole sprint review call it is better to make
separate screencasts of the presented features. This approach makes each feature introduction
shorter and noiseless.
Fedora includes recordmydesktop utility so it is recommended to use that one.
Step by step:
install the recordmydesktop GUI yum install gtk-recordmydesktop
recording in 25fps makes the presentation smooth enough, set fps value based on the estimated length of video to avoid too large. (4 minutes of full HD video recorded in 25fps is approximatelly 75mb)
if you experience a lot of background noise from the mic, lower it's sensitivity
After you record the screencast, It is possible to upload it as it is or if you want to do more editing
you need to use some video editor (Avidemux). If the video file is too large, you can use HandBrake to
compress/convert it. Make sure that compressed video is still watchable
