[Community Initiative] VS Code Pet should recognize Zoo Code and other open-source agents! #1616

Description

@dobbygit-netizen

This is not a bug report for Zoo Code, but a community initiative to improve VS Code's native support for open-source AI agents.

VS Code recently introduced an experimental interactive "pet" companion that reacts to AI agent activity in chat. However, it currently ONLY reacts to GitHub Copilot, ignoring all other AI coding assistants including Zoo Code and other open-source alternatives.

This creates an unfair advantage for Copilot and diminishes the user experience for those who prefer open-source or free alternatives.

I've opened a feature request in the official VS Code repository asking them to extend the VS Code Pet compatibility to work with Zoo Code and other open-source/free AI agents (Cline, Kilo Code, Continue, Codeium, etc.), not just GitHub Copilot.

The VS Code team requires 20 upvotes () on the issue within 60 days to keep it in their backlog.
