This PR improves the performance of compute_froc_curve_data by replacing the threshold-by-threshold scans of the FP and TP score arrays with sorted arrays and numpy.searchsorted.
The existing threshold definition and >= threshold behavior are preserved. Regression tests compare the optimized implementation against the previous behavior for duplicate scores, mostly unique scores, equal scores, empty inputs, and threshold equality cases.
Local benchmarks showed approximately 9.7x to 19.5x speedup for the tested input sizes.
compute_froc_curve_data sorts false-positive and true-positive scores, then uses np.searchsorted to count scores at each threshold. It retains the unique combined thresholds except the smallest, appends zero counts, and normalizes the counts as before. Regression tests compare outputs and dtypes with a reference across duplicate, unique, equal, empty, and threshold-equality inputs. A separate test checks NaN false-positive scores.
No merge-blocking behavior risk is established in the reviewed changes.

Explanation
Issue #9231 requires faster compute_froc_curve_data execution with unchanged output behavior. The PR sorts FP and TP scores once and uses numpy.searchsorted for vectorized threshold counts. The supplied summary reports preserved thresholds and >= threshold behavior. Focused regression tests compare the optimized and reference implementations across duplicate, unique, equal, empty, and equality cases.

Explanation
The supplied changes are limited to monai/metrics/froc.py and tests/metrics/test_compute_froc.py. NaN exclusion supports correct >= threshold counting after sorting and has a focused regression test. No unrelated file or behavior change is evidenced.

Explanation
Docstring coverage is 66.67% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 3 functions across 2 files.

The reference helper’s docstring omits its arguments and return values. The test method has no docstring. Add the required sections to the helper and document the test method.
As per path instructions, “Docstrings should be present for all definition” and describe variables, return values, and raised exceptions in Google-style sections.

Add a docstring to test_nan_fp_probs_are_not_counted stating that a NaN
false-positive probability must not contribute to fps_per_image.
compute_froc_curve_data now ignores NaN scores during counting, but its docstring does not describe this behavior. Add Google-style Returns and Raises sections, and document the AssertionError and returned arrays.
As per path instructions, docstrings must describe variables, return values, and raised exceptions.
