ThreadPilot Core Parking toggle vs Windows power settings #60

Reproduction Steps

I’m testing ThreadPilot’s Core Parking feature on Windows 11 and found what appears to be a mismatch between the ThreadPilot UI and the actual Windows power-plan settings.

System:

  • Windows 11 build 26200
  • Intel Core i7-10510U (4 cores / 8 threads)

On my Power Saver plan, I checked these settings with powercfg:

  • CPMINCORES: AC/DC 0/0
  • CPMAXCORES: AC/DC 100/100
  • CPINCREASEPOL: AC/DC 0/0
  • CPINCREASETIME: AC/DC 7/7
  • CPOVERUTIL: AC/DC 60/60
  • CPPERF: AC/DC 0/0

I then toggled ThreadPilot’s Core Parking switch and immediately checked all six settings again.

None of the six Windows settings changed, but ThreadPilot’s displayed Core Parking status changed.

In an earlier test, I also observed ThreadPilot changing CPMINCORES on AC while DC remained at 0, so the behavior appears inconsistent between tests.

Could you clarify:

  1. Which Windows setting/API does ThreadPilot use to determine the Core Parking status?
  2. What exactly does the Core Parking toggle modify?
  3. Why can ThreadPilot show different states when the Windows CPMINCORES/CPMAXCORES values are identical?

I can provide the exact before/after powercfg output if needed.
