Summary

Long contiguous request tables copied the full ragged token-index prefix from one CTA. For long tables, this PR keeps the existing metadata generation and replaces only that copy with a tiled Triton kernel using 4096-token tiles. The short or non-contiguous path remains unchanged, and the dispatch is inferred from the static request-table layout so attention wrappers do not need model-specific plumbing.

The implementation preserves request grouping, MTP rows, HOLD rows, recycled request slots, and CUDA Graph replay behavior. The new tests compare the parallel path with the existing serial reference across long contexts, mixed request layouts, and graph replay.

This PR only changes the generic ragged-index helper and its tests; it does not modify the FlashMLA wrappers touched by other open PRs.

Validation

On NVIDIA H200 with PyTorch 2.11.0+cu130, Triton 3.6.0, vLLM 0.22.1, and sglang-kernel 0.4.5:

  • 227 GLM/NSA GPU tests passed, including the long-context ragged-index, GLM layer, FP8 KV, KDA kernel, and MTP suites.
  • Black 21.12b0, Flake8 6.1.0, Python syntax checks, and git diff --check passed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added an optional sequence-length bound for attention processing. Long sequences can use a separate path for copying ragged memory indices when the bound is at least 32,768.
    • When no bound is provided, the system can infer one from eligible request-to-token tables; other cases retain the existing behavior.
  • Validation
    • Added CUDA coverage for long contexts, recycled request rows, padding, multiple layouts, and graph replay.

Walkthrough

gen_nsa_ks_ke now accepts an optional max_seq_len bound. For sufficiently large bounds and a contiguous sequence dimension, it copies ragged memory indices with a separate Triton kernel. CUDA tests cover output equivalence, recycled request rows, and graph replay.

gen_nsa_ks_ke accepts an optional max_seq_len. For bounds of at least 32768, it uses a separate parallel kernel when the sequence dimension is contiguous; otherwise, it retains the in-kernel copy path. CUDA tests check outputs across context lengths and layouts, recycled request rows, and graph replay.

The long-context test leaves HOLD-row copying insufficiently checked. An independent expected result would improve merge confidence.

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 16.67% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff with cyclomatic complexity of at least 2. Documentation-only edits and deletions within surviving functions are included; unchanged diff context and fully deleted functions are excluded. Analyzed 6 functions across 2 files.

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

Nitpick Compare the parallel output with a complete independent expectation.

Compare the parallel output with a complete independent expectation.

For context_length >= 32768, the reference call infers the same parallel path as the actual call. The equality assertion at line 135 therefore does not compare serial and parallel implementations. A transposed reference table is not safe because the serial kernel ignores the token stride.

Compare the full ragged buffer with its expected contents, including the HOLD rows:

@unit_tests/common/basemodel/triton_kernel/test_gen_nsa_ks_ke.py at line 122:
Replace the inferred `reference` comparison in the test with an independent
expected ragged buffer: construct the expected contents for the context,
request, and HOLD rows, then compare the full `parallel_ragged` buffer against
it. Keep the `actual` call using `max_seq_len=context_length` and preserve the
existing output setup.
