Fcell is a braif**k compiler targetting x86 computers with extended features and syntax.

It uses flex and bison under the box, and is capable of producing fast i386 compiled braif**k programs. Unlike many implementations, it also offers extended syntax (with a basic pointer system), more operations and features.

Performances :

In some cases, it's as fast as the https://github.com/rdebath/Brainfuck/ bf2any assembler compiler, and sometimes as fast as the tritium jit interepreter (depending on optimization needing programs or not).

For example, it's 10-20% faster on the triangle program but 80 to 100% slower (double time) on some other ones.

How to download it:

You've two choices:

  • Download the .deb package in the release, open your terminal and run sudo apt install packagename.deb or simply right-click install using your file explorer.
  • Clone the repository, and run make command.

Modifying and compiling it :

Simply download/clone this github repository using git clone https://github.com/manerr/fcell

You can then build it using make , and build the deb package with make package.

If you wanna run tests before validating modifications, just do make test.
