fix(cmd): stop the run when an audit record cannot be written - #2169
Conversation
A failed audit write on a real run now stops further purchases and exits 1 (errAuditTrailLost), on the main pipeline and --input-csv. The audit log is probed before each real purchase. Dry runs still only warn. Closes #2103 Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

205-214: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winCover the fatal CLI paths with subprocess tests.
The audit tests stop at lower helpers and assert
errAuditTrailLost. They do not invokefatalOnErrororrunCSVPathOrFatal, so they cannot detect a regression where the CLI returns successfully after an audit failure. Add same-binary subprocess cases for both wrappers and assert exit code1. UsefatalOnError(errAuditTrailLost)for the non-CSV case and an invalid audit-log path for the CSV case, which fails before any AWS call.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Addressed gate findings at a76c85e (tests only): F1 CSV-loop probe test (TestRunCSVPurchases_AuditProbeFailureStopsBeforeBuying), F2 partial-service CSV report test with the audit file and dir made read-only by the first purchase hook (TestRunCSVPurchases_AuditStopKeepsUnauditedPurchaseInReport), F3 asserts '(commitment sp-111)'. Closes #2103
What
A failed audit-record write on a real (
--purchase) run now stops further purchases and exits 1, on bothexecutePurchasePipelineandprocessPurchaseLoop(--input-csv, including the region and service loops above it). Dry runs still only warn.writePurchaseAuditRecordreturnserrAuditTrailLostfor any real-run write failure, including a record written but not synced (missing or not durable).CheckAuditLogWritablebefore each real purchase, so a log that broke after the start-of-run check stops the run before buying. Only a write-time failure that passed the probe (for example ENOSPC) can leave one unaudited purchase.auditStopMessage, in interrupt.go) says "X of N attempted, rest not purchased", names the last purchase with its commitment ID, and says to verify in AWS before re-running. It overrides a concurrent Ctrl-C: the interrupted summary prints first, then the fatal.--input-csvbody after confirmation moved intorunCSVPurchases, and a few helpers were extracted, to stay under the gocyclo budget.Tests
cmd/audit_stop_2103_test.go, via awriteAuditRecordFnseam and the stubbed AWS transport (purchase hits counted): pipeline stops after 1 of 3; probe stops before purchase 2 while record 1 exists (the log path becomes a directory, so it works as root); CSV loop stops across 2 services and 2 regions (1 hit of 4, any map order); region loop; dry run does not stop. Mutation-checked: removing the pipeline break, the probe, the loop break, the region propagation or the service-loop break each fails a named test. Not tested: the
log.Fatalfglue (fatalOnError, runCSVPathOrFatal).Verification is stub-transport based, not a real AWS purchase.
make lintclean,go test ./cmdpasses.Follow-up: a pre-purchase intent record (schema change) would close the remaining one-purchase window.
