RandomFlows helps anyone who can't decide — what to eat, what to watch, what to draw — pick from their own lists instead of a fixed wheel. Organize options into lists, group lists into cards, combine several lists in one roll, weight items so some come up more often, and keep a full history of past picks. It is free, open source (GPLv3), has no internet permission and contains no ads or trackers.
- 🎨 Artists generating drawing prompts (

📖 Getting started & every feature
- Install the app — grab the latest APK from the Releases page, download it on your phone, and tap it to install (Android may ask you to allow "install from unknown sources" the first time — that's normal for apps outside the Play Store).
- Create a card — tap the
+button on the home screen. A card is just a folder, e.g. "Dinner ideas" or "Weekend activities". - Add a list inside your card — give it a name (e.g. "Restaurants"),
then type or paste your options, one per line (e.g.
Pizza,Sushi,Burger). - Roll the dice — open the card, tick the list(s) you want to pick from, and tap the dice button. The app randomly picks one (or more) item for you, with a little animation.
- Check your history — every result is saved automatically, so you can look back at what was picked before (tap the clock icon).
- (Optional) Add the home-screen widget to roll without even opening the app, or turn on auto-backup in Settings so you never lose your lists.
That's it — no settings to configure, no sign-up, no tutorial to sit through.
- Home screen shows your cards in a grid (2+ columns), each with its own color, list/item counts
- Pin 📌 favorite cards to the top, search by name, open a random card with the dice button
- A card holds any number of lists; lists can be shared between cards (link instead of duplicate)
- Paste multi-line text to create all items at once (one item per line)
- Per item: include/exclude from draws, weight (×1–×10 — heavier items come out more often), lifetime pick counter
- Rename lists, edit items, duplicate or move a list to another card
- Check the lists to combine: X lists = X results in one roll (e.g.
Sniper Rifle - Stylized) - Per list and per card: number of items to pick, allow repeat or not (no-repeat items are struck through until reset — pick memory is independent between cards sharing a list)
- Random number module (min/max) and random time module (from X min to XX hours)
- Roll ×N (up to 20 combos at once), animated result bottom sheet with haptics, re-roll / copy / share
- Presets: save a whole configuration (lists + options) and recall it in one tap
- Every result saved with date, grouped by day (Today / Yesterday / date)
- Global history + per-card history, filter by card, copy or delete single entries
- Home-screen widget bound to a card or a preset: roll and see the result without opening the app
- Manual JSON export/import via the system file picker (import accepts any older backup format)
- Auto-backup: pick a folder once, the backup file is refreshed every time you leave the app
- Theme: System / Light / Dark
- Material 3, dynamic colors on Android 12+

❓ Why isn't it on the Play Store?
RandomFlows is an independent, free project. Instead of the Play Store, it is distributed through GitHub Releases and iurikaFlows, a small open-source store that keeps all my apps up to date. The APKs are built from this public source code — you can check everything.
🛡️ Is it safe? Android says "unknown source"
This warning appears for every app installed outside the Play Store. The code is 100% public in this repository, and each release is signed with the same key, so Android will refuse any modified version.
Requirements: Android 7.0+ · ~1.3 MB
For developers — click to expand
Prerequisites: Android Studio (latest) or the Android SDK (platform 35) · JDK 17–21
git clone https://github.com/Iurika-N-T-R/RandomFlows.git
cd RandomFlows
./gradlew assembleDebugThe APK is generated in app/build/outputs/apk/debug/.
Signed release: ./gradlew assembleRelease signs the APK only if a git-ignored keystore.properties
(storeFile, storePassword, keyAlias, keyPassword) sits at the project root; otherwise it comes out unsigned.
Backup file format — plain JSON (version 4): groups, lists, groupLists (memberships + per-card settings),
items, picks (per-card pick memory), presets, history. Older backup versions (1–3) import transparently.
