Software developer & product builder · London, UK
I build software from the customer problem through to a working product. My main stack is Java / Spring Boot and React / TypeScript, backed by years of experience managing cloud products.
Right now, I'm building Quizzence, an AI learning product, and TopTrails, an iOS app for discovering walking routes.
An independently built and deployed web app that turns documents into quizzes. Upload material, generate and review questions, then practise what you've learned.
I own the product decisions, backend, frontend and delivery. Some of the engineering behind it:
- Recoverable AI workflows: document processing and question generation with saved job progress, validation and recovery paths.
- Payments and access: Stripe billing, usage credits, OAuth2, rotating refresh tokens and ownership checks.
- Tested behaviour: JUnit, MockMvc and MySQL integration tests covering authentication, billing and failure scenarios, alongside frontend tests.
- Repeatable delivery: GitHub Actions, Docker, health checks and automated backend rollback.

A native SwiftUI app for discovering walking routes around your location or a chosen area. It brings together map search, route filters, walking directions and locally saved favourites.
I'm developing it from my own interest in hiking. The app is in development; its source code is private.
Before focusing on software development, I worked in cloud product management at Dataline / Cloudlite. I launched services, worked directly with customers and engineers, and owned a programme bringing 14 hosting providers and approximately 100,000 customers into shared billing and a common control panel.
I completed 42 London's Common Core in 2025, building on that product experience with programming and collaborative projects in C and C++.
Today, I bring both perspectives to the same problem: what should we build, how should it work, and how will we know it helps? I use AI tools daily for development, while owning the architecture, reviewing the code and testing the result.
- Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, JPA, SQL, MySQL, Flyway.
- Web and mobile: React, TypeScript, SwiftUI; Flutter on earlier projects.
- Testing and delivery: JUnit, Mockito, MockMvc, Vitest, Playwright, Docker, GitHub Actions.
- Foundations: C / C++, HTTP, REST APIs, Git and automated testing.
- Lox interpreter in Java — exploring scanners, parsers and execution through Robert Nystrom's Crafting Interpreters.
- Blue Knight Adventure — a Java game learning project with a game loop, collision detection and interactive objects, developed following RyiSnow's tutorials.
Outside software, I play football with Barnes Stormers, hike and read.
