Launcher: setting the home screen columns to 2 makes existing dock icons disappear

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Install the APK cleanly and set it as the default home app, then go to the home screen and note the existing icons on the dock.
2. Open the Launcher settings, go to the home screen settings and change Home screen columns to 2.
3. Return to the home screen and wait for the layout to settle.
4. Check the dock: Messages and Phone are still visible, while the other existing dock icons such as Chrome and Camera are gone and cannot be launched.

Expected behavior

Changing the home screen column count is a layout option and should keep the existing dock items visible and launchable.

Actual behavior

After setting Home screen columns to 2 and returning to the home screen, the dock keeps only Messages and Phone; the other existing dock icons (for example Chrome and Camera) are no longer shown and cannot be launched from the dock.

I only changed the column count; 3, 4 and 5 columns all keep the dock icons, so only 2 loses them.
