The Python package bikenetlib is in the planning phase and not yet being developed. It will be BikeNetKit's Python core utility package. It will offer utilities for working with bicycle networks and form the core of many upstream packages in the BikeNetKit family, like GrowBikeNet, FixBikeNet, or LinkBikeNet.

There will be three building blocks:

• bikenetlib.io – Input and output
• bikenetlib.utils – Utilities
• bikenetlib.viz – Visualization

BikeNetLib mainly builds on OSMnx and GeoPandas.
