Customer operations can finish without throwing even when the intended result failed. Runtime 1.4.0 adds structured diagnostic logs and explicit operation outcomes, so a checkout can report reserved inventory, an unconfirmed payment, and skipped order creation with linked trace context.
The Node and Next.js server APIs record nested context, measured steps and one completed operation summary. The ingester accepts authenticated OTLP JSON/protobuf at
/v1/logsand creates the separateruntime_logstable through migration0011-runtime-logs. Ordinary logs remain diagnostic evidence; exceptions and failed outcomes use the existing trace issue pipeline. Buffering, retries, privacy scrubbing and flush failures are bounded and reported.Validation: Runtime builds passed; 40 Node tests, 8 browser tests and 67 ingester tests passed; browser size remains within its 5 kB budget. Isolated ClickHouse 24.8 validation covered schema migration, SDK ingestion and scoped linked evidence.
Rollout: deploy the ingester before publishing the 1.4.0 SDKs, then deploy platform evidence consumers. The browser package remains 1.3.3; Next.js requires the new Node package.
