What does this PR do?

Adds altimate integrations so GitHub, Jira and Linear can be connected from the terminal, using the same credential fields as the Altimate workspace web form, instead of setting them up in the web app. Stacked on #1609.

  • Detection: finds credentials already on the machine: gh, jira-cli, GITHUB_TOKEN/GH_TOKEN, JIRA_API_TOKEN, LINEAR_API_KEY, and MCP servers in Claude Code's config. A project .mcp.json only shows that a provider is present; its values are never used, and a Jira site and token must come from the same source.
  • fields <provider>: the form fields from the workspace's integrations catalog. They are cached, with a built-in fallback, and pre-filled from the machine. Secrets are reported only as a masked tail.
  • set / set-secret --from-clipboard | --from-env | --stdin: fills fields. A secret is read by the CLI itself and never printed.
  • connect <provider> [--local-only] [--share]: validates directly with GitHub, Jira or Linear, then either keeps the credential in the OS keychain or saves it as a connection in the user's own account and attaches it to the linked workspace. A rejected credential shows the provider's message and stores nothing.
  • Sharing needs --share: attaching to a workspace that is not private (or doesn't say) lets its members use the connection, so connect, update and sync only do it with --share. Without it nothing is written to the workspace, the connection stays in the user's account, and the result names altimate integrations sync <provider> --share. The check uses the workspace as read right before writing. A connection the workspace already uses stays attached. Output says (private) only for a private workspace, otherwise who can use it, and --json carries shared: true.
  • update <provider>: replaces a rejected token on the same connection.
  • status: reports rejected when a token stopped working.
  • Other commands: open-token-page, sync, block/unblock, disconnect (removes the local copy and the workspace connection this tool made).
  • Local vs synced:
    • A synced credential lives only in the workspace connection this tool made, and a local one lives only on this machine.
    • connect --local-only (Keep local) moves a workspace copy here and stays local until unblock.
    • block refuses a synced connection.
  • A rejected credential stores nothing:
    • Drafts are discarded.
    • A connection the workspace marks invalid is removed.
    • Local secrets are deleted only after the workspace accepts the upload.
  • Concurrency:
    • Writes go through the repo's Flock lock, as temp file plus rename. The state file and the secrets file (outside macOS) are mode 0600. The catalog cache and the mock-remote file hold no secrets and use the default mode.
    • Every decision and upload runs under one lock.
    • Secrets never go on argv; macOS security -i reads them from stdin.
  • Signed out: sync is skipped and no demo workspace is shown. status reports workspace.signedIn.
  • Output: every command has --json, which the Claude Code plugin reads.
  • No browser flow: there is no OAuth flow. Credentials come from the machine or are pasted into the same fields the web form uses.

Known limitations and follow-ups

  • Linux and Windows: a kept-local secret goes to a 0600 file, not an OS keychain. Spec AC5 asks for the keychain only; this needs libsecret and DPAPI support.

  • Connection identity: a managed connection is matched by its name, Provider (from <hostname>), not a source.machine field. Renaming the host orphans it, and fixing that needs a backend field. Keychain keys are not yet namespaced per Altimate tenant. Two machines with the same hostname also share one connection.

  • Org policy "local only": not built. The backend has no policy source yet.

  • Workspace integrations list: the backend only replaces the whole list (PATCH /datamates/{id}). The CLI re-reads it just before writing, but two concurrent writers can still race until there is an incremental or conditional update.

  • Values starting with -: integrations set can't take one, because the argument parser reads it as a flag.

  • Token expiry: shown for GitHub only. Jira and Linear don't report it.

  • After a failed workspace removal: when Keep local can't remove the workspace copy, the credential is kept here and a warning says so, but status doesn't yet show both copies coherently.

  • Rollback: restoring the previous secrets after a failed keychain write is best effort. A failed restore is not reported.

  • Secret-name fallback: treating catalog fields with known secret names as secret applies only to freshly fetched catalogs, not to a cached one.

  • Update before attach: update rewrites the connection before the workspace attach is checked. If that attach then fails (a stale link or a failed read), members of a shared workspace already use the new credential, but the result only says it could not be attached.

  • Plugin: the Claude Code plugin has no --share control yet. On a shared workspace, its Link workspace and Sync all show the refusal reason.

  • Lock and slow backends: a command holds the local lock across its workspace calls (20 s timeout each), while another command waiting for the lock gives up after 30 s. Only a slow backend hits this.

  • Partial-failure edge cases: if sync can't remove a legacy local key after an upload, re-running sync doesn't retry that one key. In text mode, the cleanup warning is hidden when the workspace attach fails at the same time.

  • Env overrides: ALTIMATE_INTEGRATIONS_* backend and API variables (and JIRA_BASE_URL pairing) are honoured in every build. Tests and the local-backend setup rely on them; they should only apply under mock mode or in test builds.

  • Stale connection ids: attach replaces an entry whose connection id is missing from every connection the user can see. Telling a deleted connection from one the user can't see needs a backend rule.

  • Draft secret names: drafts are not recorded by field name, so a draft for a field the workspace catalog later drops is not found by discard or disconnect.

  • Unreadable login on disconnect: for a record that isn't synced, the workspace step is skipped, so a copy that exists only in the workspace is left in place.

  • Signed-out disconnect after a failed Keep local removal: it reports success while the workspace copy remains.

  • Draft writes: a field typed with set while a connect is being checked isn't part of the credential comparison; only the stored credential is.

  • Plugin: the pane doesn't yet show workspaceUnchecked (a failed workspace lookup in status), so counts can look synced when the workspace wasn't read.

Pre-existing issues seen during review, in code from #1609 (not changed here):

  • api/client.ts signOut: a failed withdrawClaudeSkills is swallowed, with no warning or retry.
  • cli/cmd/link.ts: picking the workspace that's already linked returns before the --claude-md write, and a failed CLAUDE.md write is swallowed by an empty catch.
  • mcp-server/adapter.ts: tables beyond MAX_FUSED_TABLES are dropped silently.
  • tool-cli/workspace-tools.ts: projectIsLinked ignores ALTIMATE_DISABLE_WORKSPACE.
  • tool-cli/claude-md.ts: there's a window between the lstat check and the CLAUDE.md write.
  • cli/cmd/tool.ts: the connections stamp uses only mtime and size.
  • tools/sql-result-format.ts: csvCell doesn't neutralise =, +, - and @ prefixes.
  • workspace/client.ts: setup reads credentials before the disabled check.
  • session/analyst-effort.ts: an unknown explicit variant skips the analyst default.

How did you verify your code works?

  • bun test test/altimate/integrations.test.ts: 153 pass, 0 fail. Every test case is listed below.
  • bun test test/altimate: 10,462 pass, 0 fail. bun run typecheck and bun turbo typecheck are clean.
  • CI is green on the latest commit.
  • Ran against a local Altimate backend with real GitHub and Jira credentials:
    • GitHub kept local, validated against api.github.com with nothing sent to Altimate
    • Jira validated and synced
    • a bad Linear key rejected with Linear's 401
    • a revoked Jira connection updated on the same connection
  • Ran the CLI in a scratch sandbox: signed-out status, a masked set-secret, and a bad GitHub token rejected with the provider's 401, with no secret left on disk.

All 153 test cases in test/altimate/integrations.test.ts (grouped by describe block):

detection parsing (2)
  • claude.json and .mcp.json servers
  • jira-cli config
status (3)
  • shape and states in demo mode
  • a signed-out user is not shown a linked workspace; mock mode keeps the demo one
  • not_found without detections
block policy and sync (1)
  • blocked providers stay local, unblocked sync
expiry (2)
  • isExpired uses a 60 second skew
  • status reports expired and expiresAt
keychain (6)
  • a secret goes to security on stdin, quoted, and never in argv
  • read and delete use the keychain by account
  • a failed keychain delete is an error unless the item was already absent
  • a disconnect the keychain refuses keeps the record, so it can be retried
  • a failed keychain write is an error
  • an account id outside the allowed characters is refused before security runs
state file (1)
  • is written for the owner only
secret storage (1)
  • a value with a line break is refused as not a token
workspace connections (48)
  • sync creates the managed connection, then updates it in place
  • a new connection the workspace marks invalid is removed again and nothing is stored
  • backend errors keep the message (code) format
  • status prefers the managed connection, else the latest validated own one, and skips shared ones
  • a newer hand-made connection stays what is shown while the deleted-elsewhere check follows the managed one
  • a synced credential deleted in the workspace is offered again when it is still found here
  • a saved record shows the newest validated connection, a newer hand-made one included
  • sync <provider> --keep-synced takes the attach-only path that sync --all takes
  • attach-only runs under the lock and names the kept workspace inert, with its id
  • sync over every provider leaves a saved connection alone and only attaches it
  • block still sets the policy when the workspace cannot be read, and says it was not checked
  • block refuses a provider whose managed connection is in the workspace
  • disconnect waits for a running upload instead of interleaving with it
  • sync only uploads a detected or registered credential, never a typed-in draft
  • sync moves a local credential to the workspace and leaves no secret here
  • a sync that lost the race to Keep local uploads nothing
  • disconnect says when the connection could not be detached from the linked workspace
  • disconnect warns when it cannot tell whether the directory is linked, and not when it is unlinked
  • a synced record marked rejected locally is connected once the workspace shows the connection valid
  • sync over every provider leaves a workspace connection alone when this machine has no record of it
  • sync over every provider does not attach a workspace connection the workspace marks invalid
  • sync over every provider attaches a workspace connection when nothing for the provider is detected here
  • the status of a synced record takes the workspace connection's expiry on the real path
  • a synced record fixed in the workspace is attached by a run over every provider
  • a synced record takes its expiry from the workspace over an older local one
  • a sync prepared before a same-variant local update uploads nothing
  • a sync prepared before the record changed uploads nothing
  • sync records the provider check: validatedAt and account on success, rejected for a refused stored credential
  • sync uploads nothing when the provider rejects the detected credential, or cannot be reached
  • a synced connection carries the known expiry, so the workspace view shows it
  • sync over every provider says a synced connection deleted in the workspace is gone, not already there
  • sync over every provider attaches a workspace connection even when the only thing found here is a remote MCP server
  • a credential found here is still offered next to a hand-made workspace connection
  • purging a provider's secrets covers every variant, not only the connected one
  • purging a provider's secrets keeps the fields just written
  • a refused new connection that cannot be removed still reports the refusal
  • a fresh local connection wins over the remote one
  • disconnect deletes only the managed connections
  • a failed workspace delete keeps the local credential so disconnect can be retried
  • upsertManaged reports when the project is not linked to a workspace
  • workspace info reports an unlinked project
  • an already saved connection with no local secret is verified and reported as not linked
  • a saved connection that is gone from the workspace is still skipped
  • only the existing connections endpoints are called
  • the CLI exits non-zero on a failed sync, reports step outcomes, and refuses to block a synced connection
  • a hand-made connection is shown as not managed
  • a local expiry is not erased by a workspace copy of unknown expiry
  • without a signed-in backend nothing is removed
failure descriptions (1)
  • validation lists, string details and codes
jira domain and cli flags (2)
  • normaliseJiraDomain sends the subdomain only
  • the browser sign-in flags are gone and the token command is removed
credentials flow › fields (6)
  • built-in table when nothing else is known
  • jira variant follows the site and the form is pre-filled
  • secrets report only a masked tail
  • jiraVariantFor
  • workspace catalog is read, cached and used when offline
  • parseCatalog reads a wrapped list and a variants map
credentials flow › set and set-secret (5)
  • a typed Jira site is reduced to the subdomain before it is stored
  • set stores a non-secret draft and rejects secrets and unknown fields
  • set-secret reads the injected clipboard and returns only the masked tail
  • clipboard content that is not a token is refused
  • secrets can come from an environment variable or stdin
credentials flow › where Jira values may come from (7)
  • a planted project file cannot point the user's token at another host
  • a token planted in a project file is not used
  • a project file still counts as present, without being syncable
  • a site from one source is not paired with a token from another
  • same-named servers in the user and project scopes are separate sources
  • a site and a token from the same source are used together
  • a site the user typed pairs with a detected token
credentials flow › validators (6)
  • github token: accepted and rejected
  • jira cloud: accepted and rejected
  • jira server: accepted and rejected
  • linear key: accepted and rejected
  • github reports the token expiry and an unreachable provider is not a rejection
  • a plain-http Jira server URL is refused
credentials flow › connect and update (46)
  • missing fields are listed
  • local-only validates, stores locally and calls no backend
  • a 2xx without an account is not accepted as a valid credential
  • a catalog id naming the server variant gets the server type and token page
  • state writes are atomic and private
  • sync reads a detected Jira credential through the connect path
  • detected credentials are used without typing
  • a rejected token stores nothing
  • a rejected token does not linger to override what is detected
  • keep local on a connection that exists only in the workspace removes that copy and holds sync
  • update with local-only keeps a synced connection local instead of uploading
  • sync is held before the workspace copy is removed, and released again if the removal fails
  • Keep local removes nothing from the workspace when the local copy cannot be stored
  • a local connect that fails part way restores the secrets it wrote
  • a catalog that omits the secret flags still treats the built-in secret fields as secret
  • a Jira variant naming the server is validated as the server
  • a refused replacement of a non-secret field leaves the working connection alone
  • keep local stores a credential unverified when the provider is unreachable; connect stores nothing
  • a rejected input is not stored unverified
  • a failed state write leaves no temp file behind
  • two processes updating the same state never lose an update
  • discard clears typed fields and pasted secrets
  • sync creates the managed connection with the catalog field names and keeps no secret locally
  • jira server sends the variant type with its catalog fields
  • a new connection the workspace marks invalid is removed and nothing is stored
  • a replacement the workspace marks invalid leaves the connection marked rejected until update fixes it
  • a backend refusal is reported as message (code)
  • signed out, or blocked, behaves as local-only and says so
  • update needs a connection and keeps a local connection local
  • update of a synced connection updates the same connection in place
  • a credential kept local is never uploaded until sync is allowed
  • signed out, sync does not pretend to reach the workspace
  • keeping a synced connection local removes the workspace copy and holds sync
  • keeping a synced connection local while signed out changes nothing
  • a synced connection cannot be blocked: there is no local copy to keep
  • a remote-only managed connection can be updated
  • Keep local on a connection only the workspace holds refuses when the workspace cannot be read
  • Keep local on a connection only the workspace holds removes it and keeps the secret here
  • Keep local on a local record finds a workspace copy uploaded after it was recorded
  • a workspace refusal keeps typed non-secret values and drops secret drafts
  • a clipboard URL is not taken as a token
  • a failed upload keeps the local secret
  • a hand-made connection cannot be updated from here
  • a workspace connection removed elsewhere stops reading as synced
  • disconnect while signed out refuses when the credential is saved in the workspace
  • disconnect removes the credential secrets
credentials flow › rejected status (3)
  • a refused replacement leaves the working connection alone
  • a stored credential the provider now refuses is rejected until it is updated
  • a workspace connection marked invalid is rejected
credentials flow (1)
  • the CLI shows the credential commands and no browser flow
catalog fields a person fills in (1)
  • skips backend bookkeeping, repeated fields and browser sign-in variants
attachToIntegrations (2)
  • adds a missing entry with read-only tools only
  • sets the connection on an existing entry and extends a connection list
attach keeps another connection (5)
  • an entry on another connection keeps it, an empty one or this one is set
  • an entry on a connection that no longer exists takes this one
  • an entry on a connection shared by another member is kept; a deleted one is taken over, with its id dropped from the list
  • attach reports when the workspace kept its own connection
  • detach leaves an entry on another connection alone
detachFromIntegrations (1)
  • clears only this connection and leaves other entries alone
printed text and catalog shape (2)
  • clean removes escape sequences, control and bidi characters
  • catalogEntries unwraps a list, items, integrations and data alike
saved login (1)
  • a missing credentials file is signed out, an unreadable one is an error

Cost side effects

None. There are no model calls and no warehouse queries. Each command makes a fixed, small number of REST calls: to GitHub, Jira or Linear to validate a credential, and to the Altimate workspace API for connections and the integrations catalog. Nothing grows with user data.

Screenshots / recordings

Not applicable. This is a CLI change; the UI is in AltimateAI/altimate-claude-plugin#12.

Checklist

  • I have tested my changes locally
  • I have not included unrelated changes in this PR

Do not merge: experiment for evaluating direct altimate-code tools in Claude Code.

- Bring in `altimate-code mcp serve` and the workspace tools from the MCP draft branches
- `tool list|schema|run|context|daemon`: run the same adapter as `mcp serve` without a model
- `mcp serve` default set adds impact, lineage, PII, data-diff, equivalence and translation tools; `--all-tools` exposes the full allow-list
- Long-running per-project process keeps connections warm and releases DuckDB/SQLite file locks between calls
- `--connections` / `ALTIMATE_TOOL_CONNECTIONS`, `--args -` from stdin, `tool schema` for one tool
- DROP DATABASE, DROP SCHEMA and TRUNCATE stay blocked even with `--allow-write`
- `link --claude-md` writes CLI routing guidance for clients without MCP

Do not merge: experiment.

- `tool list|schema|run|context|daemon` enable workspace tools automatically when the project is linked; `--no-workspace-tools` disables them
- `tool context` lists the linked workspace, its skills and how to use the workspace tools
- Daemon identity and spawn arguments follow the effective workspace-tools value

…ills

Do not merge: experiment.

- Every workspace skill sync also writes the skills into `<project>/.claude/skills/`, so linking or refreshing a project puts them on disk before a Claude Code session starts
- Copies follow the Claude Code plugin's rules: frontmatter reduced to `name` and `description`, command blocks neutralised, hook and plugin component paths skipped, user-written skills never touched, each copy marked and git-ignored
- Unlink and the feature-off path remove the copies; projects without `.claude` are left alone; `ALTIMATE_CLAUDE_SKILL_SYNC=0` disables it
- A mirror failure never changes the sync result
- Tests: `claude-skill-mirror.test.ts`, mirror wiring in `skill-sync.test.ts`

…ll mirror

- daemon: release file locks when the last request finishes; serialize bind and
stale-socket recovery with a lock; clients never unlink sockets; refuse a
  symlinked or foreign-owned socket directory
- mcp: warehouse_remove and driver installs need --allow-write over MCP too
- analyst effort: a per-model effort or thinking option wins over the default
- adapter: bound the answer_commit history kept across turns
- tool CLI: keep spilled results under the state directory, not /tmp
- skill mirror: skip a symlinked .claude or .claude/skills; swap copies without
  deleting the old one first
- docs: callers in one directory share the daemon

Detects gh, jira-cli, env tokens and Claude MCP servers, syncs them to
the Altimate workspace or keeps them in the OS keychain, and connects a
provider through a browser consent flow with a loopback callback.
Expired tokens are re-created through the authorize flow; no refresh
token is stored. Disconnect also removes the workspace copy.

…cking files

Files that reset the native dispatcher or mock the MCP SDK client modules now
restore them, so tests that run later in the same process see the real ones.

…space skill mirror

Copies carry a marker naming the skill, so a renamed copy is the user's; nested
CLAUDE.md files are not copied; staging uses an .altimate-staging- infix, gets
its .gitignore first and is swept when abandoned; an unreadable snapshot, or one
missing while it is swapped, leaves the copies alone; and the mirror and the
plugin's sync take turns under one mkdir lock in .claude/skills.

a dead one by rename, released only by the holder (an empty token directory),
and never waited on past its deadline; a holder that lost it stops before the
next swap. The manifest is read without following symlinks and re-read before
the removal pass; a listed skill directory that is gone, or credentials that
exist but cannot be read, change nothing. One skill's failed swap no longer
stops the others; tree comparison streams one file pair at a time; frontmatter
whitespace matches Python's; readManifest rejects a skills array.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
connect now asks for the same fields as the workspace web form, read
from the integrations catalog, pre-filled from credentials found on the
machine. Secrets come from detection, the clipboard, an env var or
stdin and are never printed. Credentials are validated directly with
GitHub, Jira or Linear, then kept in the keychain or synced to the
workspace. A rejected token can be updated on the same connection.
The browser OAuth flow moves behind connect --oauth.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…, and withdraw them on sign-out

Each copy is swapped in only while the lock is held and the snapshot is the one
read and still the signed-in account's, so a mid-copy swap, takeover or sign-out
publishes nothing. Swap detection uses the staging directory's mtime, which a
rename updates on every platform. A SKILL.md that is not a regular file skips
that skill instead of freezing every sync; markers decode strictly with their BOM
kept, as the plugin's Python reads them. The sync waits at most 2 s for the lock.
Signing out withdraws the project's copies.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Saving, updating, listing and removing a workspace connection now use
the existing /connections endpoints, so no backend change is needed.
The browser OAuth flow is removed; credentials are always the
workspace's own fields, validated with the provider first.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ts check and its read

The plugin's copy treats that as a snapshot changing underneath and changes nothing;
the mirror dropped the skill instead.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Saving a GitHub, Jira or Linear credential (connect, update or sync) now
also attaches the connection to the project's linked workspace, so it shows
on the workspace's integrations. A new entry enables only read-only tools.
Sync re-attaches a connection already saved to the account when no local
secret is kept. A workspace the caller does not own is reported clearly.

The workspace commands honour ALTIMATE_API_URL, ALTIMATE_TENANT and
ALTIMATE_TOKEN like the integrations client, so a local backend works end
to end, and sync/status report the real tenant and workspace.

… every copy

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
status and sync --json now include `linked` and the linked workspace `id`,
so clients can offer to link an unlinked project instead of showing the
tenant name as if it were a workspace. The human header says when the
project is not linked.

…e tools

- `daemon`: requests wait for an in-progress file release, `stop` replies
before shutting down, and the daemon key includes
  `ALTIMATE_DISABLE_SCHEMA_VALUES`, `ALTIMATE_INTEGRATIONS` and
  `ALTIMATE_DISABLE_WORKSPACE`.
- `permissions`: the blocked-statement check runs before the read-permission
  shortcut.
- `claude-md`: a symlinked `CLAUDE.md` is left untouched.
- `workspace-tools`: workspace-authored names and descriptions render as one
inert line, skills are read through `WorkspaceClient.readSkill`, and the
  workspace is labelled with `workspaceLabel`.
- MCP workspace adapter: an adapter is closed only after the operations
using it finish; `serverInstructions` releases file connections it opened.
- `outputLimits` reads organisation-managed config and preferences.
- `schema-list`: MySQL and Redshift (whose drivers ignore binds) get an
escaped schema literal; schema names are sorted before the limit.
- `registry.releaseFileConnections` keeps remote and in-memory URI stores.
- `sql_execute` batches: `truncated` reports row-limited or clipped items,
references resolve against the default warehouse, duplicate labels are
rejected, backslashes are escaped for BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks and
ClickHouse, and an unmaterialized spill returns no table.
- `answer_commit`: integers keep every digit; coverage and number checks
stand down when the run budget is ending (one shared `budgetEnding`).
- `warehouse_add` resolves relative store paths against the project root;
`warehouse_list` skips only workspace-routed connections in discovery.
- `analyst-effort` honours SAP `modelParams` and the configured
  `model.variants`.
- Workspace client: `readSkill` opens with `O_NOFOLLOW`; context lists only
skills with a regular `SKILL.md`. `releaseLocalSession` clears every
per-session map; skill withdrawal runs in `finally` on purge.
- MongoDB `listTables` checks that an empty database exists.
- Docs and `--allow-write` help match the actual policies.
- Tests for each behaviour change; new suites restore their spies.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…ferences

BigQuery and Spark/Databricks have no `''` escape inside a string literal
(Databricks reads `'it''s'` as two adjacent literals, `its`). Batch
references now escape the quote with a backslash for those two dialects
and keep `''` for the rest. The read-only check does not lex their
backslash escape, so such a step is refused instead of running with a
wrong value.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…rules; address review findings

- data_diff refuses any source, target or where_clause that is not one complete read-only
query (classifier read, single statement, balanced parentheses, no side-effect or dynamic
query() calls) before connecting, checks every statement it runs, and opens every
connector read-only. sql_check keeps its stricter rules (shared read-only-sql helper).
- isBlockedStatement classifies the whole pattern, so leading comments and multi-statement
  patterns stay hard-blocked.
- Redshift values in batch references get their backslashes escaped.
- Tool daemon: the idle timer waits for a pending file release; only a request that ran a
tool leads to a release, and a stop is answered without waiting for one; the socket is
  owner-only.
- Workspace: refresh clears the active adapter before closing it; a snapshot removed
mid-read lists no skills; copies into .claude/skills are opt-in with
ALTIMATE_CLAUDE_SKILL_SYNC=1 (the Claude Code plugin sets it).
- Analyst effort ignores non-object model params and output_config without effort; managed
output preferences resolve files against their own directory; warehouse_add shares the
registry's project root; mcp --allow-write help names the hard blocks.
- Docs for warehouse_add's local writes, Claude Code skill copies, analyst effort and
  answer_commit; tests for each change.

Fixed in beafa4b: an answer without a connections list, including an empty 200 body, is now an error for both list calls, and an empty or non-record workspace answer is an error before any integrations list is built. 204 and empty DELETE answers are untouched. Tests added.

Fixed in beafa4b: in the local save path a failed purge of the previous secrets no longer stops the record from being saved. The new secrets are already stored and complete, so the record is written and the leftover is reported in the message. Test added.

attachToWorkspace decides whether catalog tool keys are needed using its first GET, but constructs the replacement from a second GET. An entry removed between those reads is recreated without tools.

The replacement PATCH can recreate a provider entry with no enabled tools.

This can occur when: Another workspace editor removes the provider entry after the first summary GET and before the second.

Record draft secret names so discard and disconnect can delete them after a catalog change.

setSecretDraft writes a draft secret but does not record its field name. After the catalog drops that field, discard and disconnect cannot find the draft, so it stays in the secret store. Record draft secret names when saving, and delete them in discardDrafts and purgeCredentialSecrets.

Not changed: it needs the workspace catalog to drop a secret field between pasting and discarding. Discard and disconnect already cover the built-in names, the connected record's names and every field in the saved catalog. Recording draft names is added to the follow-ups list if wanted.

@hkaltai Understood. Existing cleanup covers built-in names, connected-record names, and saved-catalog fields. The remaining case is a draft-only secret field removed by a catalog refresh before cleanup.

Deferring that edge case to the follow-ups list is reasonable. Would you like a separate GitHub issue for it?

Keep the workspace sync state when removing the workspace copy fails.

The local-only move records synced: false and connectionId: null before the workspace copy is deleted. If that delete fails, the failure branch keeps this state. The workspace connection still exists. A later signed-out disconnect then skips its sign-in guard, removes the local record, and reports success while the workspace copy remains.

When core.removeManaged fails in the disconnect flow, restore the local record’s

Listed follow-up (status after a failed workspace-copy removal). The move is already reported as failed with the workspace copy noted, and connecting again with --local-only retries the removal. Making a signed-out disconnect refuse in that state needs the record to remember the pending workspace copy, which is part of that follow-up.

@hkaltai Understood. You have deferred pending-workspace-copy tracking to the listed follow-up. The failure message and --local-only retry provide a recovery path, but the signed-out disconnect concern remains unresolved.

Would you like me to open a GitHub issue for that follow-up?

…e stale credential writes

- A workspace answer without a workspace record, or with integrations that
are not a list, is an error; nothing is written back from it.
- Connect and sync compare the stored credential (values, variant, secret
fields, connection, a stamp written with the secrets) under the lock and
stop instead of overwriting a newer one.
- Unreadable state or secret files are errors instead of being reset.
- Text output cleans detach messages and masked tails; status warns when the
workspace could not be checked; disconnect still removes the connection
on a stale link and says when the workspace was not checked.
- A login that cannot be read no longer blocks local-only fields, discard or
  an unsynced disconnect.
- Jira cloud URLs with a port, exact --variant matches, and offline re-saves
  keep only their own expiry.
- Tests remove their temporary folders.

WARNING: A summary answer that omits integrations is read as a known-empty list

attachToWorkspace builds the next list from datamate.integrations and updateDatamateIntegrations replaces the whole list with { integrations } (core.ts), so an empty list here removes every other integration entry of the workspace. This side is not guaranteed to carry the field: DatamateSummary in api/client.ts declares integrations as nullable().optional(), and workspace/status-view.ts (selectionOf) deliberately treats a missing list as unknown rather than empty. The fallback list path above now refuses that shape; the summary path should do the same (treat absent/null as unknown and stop before the whole-list write) instead of returning [].

Fixed in 2bdd65f: a workspace record whose integrations list is missing or null is now an error, so no list is built and nothing is written back. The test that expected an empty list now expects the error.

SUGGESTION: An unreadable login still aborts status before this fallback

realConfig() is awaited above, outside the try, and backendConfig() throws Could not read your Altimate login ... when the credentials file cannot be parsed. In that case status / status --json exits with an error and never reaches this handler, so the new "states come from this machine and may be out of date" warning does not cover the login failure that the other changes in this PR now tolerate (loadCatalog and disconnect). Moving the realConfig() call inside the try (or mapping its error to workspaceUnchecked) would make the local states reachable in that case too.

Fixed in 2bdd65f: status and status --json no longer exit when the login cannot be read. They print the local state and report that the workspace could not be read (workspaceUnchecked).

Compare draft state in the stale-input check before saving.

A set or set-secret edit made while connect or update validates the earlier draft does not change the record that sameRecord compares. The connect continues and saves the previously resolved values. It then clears all drafts and draft secrets, so the newer draft is lost without a warning. Record a draft change marker in setDraft and setSecretDraft, and compare it in sameRecord.

Peer review: lead (Claude) + Sol 6.1 (Codex), 1 convergence round

Verdict: approve, no blocking issues. Six MINOR findings are posted inline (lock heartbeat vs. blocking keychain calls, rollback after a failed record write, draft deletion on a rejected connect, a sync cleanup message that suggests a retry that doesn't happen, the env var that switches macOS storage to a file, and delete-after-failed-detach). None blocks merge. The rollback one (credentials.ts L709) is the one I'd fix first. Codex rated it MAJOR.

Note: a formal approval can't be submitted from the author's own account, so this review is posted as a comment.

Strong points: secrets go to security -i on stdin, never argv; files are written atomically as temp + rename with 0600; non-JSON or list-less API answers are refused instead of being read as "empty" before a full-list PATCH; every decision is re-checked under the lock with sameRecord; remote text is cleaned of escape sequences before printing; a GitHub 403 from rate limiting is not mistaken for a rejected token.

Nits (consolidated)

  • src/index.ts:110: "integrations" sits inside the altimate_change block for "attribute learning commands". Give it its own block.
  • core.ts:701: the section header // ---- mock workspace sync sits above the real syncProvider/syncReal path. Rename it to "workspace sync".
  • core.ts is 1197 lines and mixes storage/keychain, detection, status merge, sync and workspace attach, with many 300+ char conditionals. Consider splitting secrets and workspace attach into their own modules in a follow-up.
  • Naming: clean → sanitizeForTerminal (integrations.ts:216); local in connectCredentials → resultWithoutAccount; module-level S / out / json and the single-letter r / o hurt readability in a file this long.
  • upsertManaged (core.ts:881) matches against listVisibleConnections filtered by an optional is_owner. If the backend can omit is_owner on shared rows, match against listOwnConnections (include_shared=false) as removeManaged does.
  • Test gap: the keychain path is tested only with a mocked spawnSync. One darwin-only test against the real security binary (quoting of " / \, exit status) would back up the stdin approach.

Cross-checks

  • Scope vs ticket: can't be verified, since no issue is linked. Consider linking a Jira key or issue.
  • Unrelated files: clean.
  • Comment hygiene: the two nits above only. No issue IDs or prompt text in comments.
  • Missing tests: draft replaced mid-validation; a failed record write after secret writes (Jira variant switch); two processes with slow keychain calls; a cleanup that partly fails, then a retried sync.

MINOR — lock can be taken over while still held

const LOCK_STALE_MS = 12_000

Flock keeps the lock alive with a timer heartbeat (about every 4 s). Inside the lock, though, the keychain helpers use blocking childProcess.spawnSync("security", …), each with a 10 s timeout, and several run back to back: purgeCredentialSecrets and discardDraftSecrets loop over every secret field, and the Keep-local put loop reads and then writes each one. A slow or locked keychain can block the event loop for more than 12 s in total. The heartbeat then stops, and a second altimate integrations process can treat the live lock as stale and enter the same critical section. That breaks the "every decision and upload runs under one lock" guarantee.

Suggestion: run the keychain calls asynchronously (execFile / Bun.spawn) so the heartbeat keeps ticking. Raising LOCK_STALE_MS alone is fragile.

Fixed in 2bdd65f: every keychain call (add, find, delete) now runs through an asynchronous child process with the same argv, the same stdin-only secret contract, the same 10 s timeout and the same error mapping (exit 44 = not found), so the event loop and the lock's refresh timer keep running while the keychain answers. readSecret is now async and every caller, including the rollback loop, awaits it. Tests check stdin and argv are unchanged and that a timer fires while a keychain call is pending.

MINOR — an env var silently moves macOS secrets out of the keychain

const useKeychain = () => process.platform === "darwin" && !process.env.ALTIMATE_INTEGRATIONS_DIR

If ALTIMATE_INTEGRATIONS_DIR is set, macOS secrets go to a plaintext 0600 integrations-secrets.json instead of the keychain, and nothing warns about it. The known-limitations list covers the backend/API overrides but not this storage change. Suggest tying the file fallback to mock/test mode or a dedicated test-only flag, not to the data-dir override.

MINOR — the retry this message suggests does not happen

steps.push({ label: `${LOCAL_CLEANUP_FAILED_PREFIX}… Run altimate integrations sync ${id} to remove it.`, ok: false })

The PR lists "re-running sync doesn't retry that one key" as a known limitation, but this message tells the user to do exactly that. On the retry, collectConfig finds no complete local credential, so the attach-only branch runs, reports success, and never retries the cleanup. The leftover token stays, and the CLI says all is well.

Suggestion: keep a cleanup-pending flag on the record and retry the cleanup on every sync, or change the message to say how to remove the leftover by hand (e.g. disconnect).

MINOR — connection is deleted even when detaching it from the workspace failed

detachError = (await detachFromBoundWorkspace(config, c.id)) ?? detachError
await backend.deleteConnection(config, c.id)

When detach fails (not the owner, an unconfirmed link, a network error), the connection is still deleted. The workspace's integrations entry is then left pointing at a deleted connection id, and only a later attach's stale-id logic cleans it up. Suggest skipping the delete for that connection when its detach failed, and reporting it, so a retry can detach and then delete.

MINOR — rollback doesn't cover the record write (Codex rated this MAJOR)

await core.purgeCredentialSecrets(id, rec, false, written)
…
await finish(false, { connectionId: null })

The comment above says a failed write "puts back every secret this attempt touched and leaves the previous record as it was". But the undo list only applies to the put loop. After it, the previous variant's secrets are purged (L705), and then finish() → updateStore writes integrations.json outside any try/catch. If that write fails (ENOSPC, I/O error):

  • the secrets have already been overwritten or deleted. For example, Jira Cloud → Server deletes cred:jira:jiraApiToken;
  • the record still describes the old variant, which now has no secret;
  • setBlocked([id], true) is not undone either.

Suggestion: save the record before purging the old variant's secrets, and replay undo (and unset the block) when the record write fails. Report a failed restore instead of swallowing it with catch {}.

Severity note: the second reviewer rated this MAJOR because it destroys a working credential. I rated it MINOR because the trigger is a local file write failing right after the lock dir in the same dataDir was written successfully. Either way it's worth fixing before relying on the rollback promise.)

MINOR — a rejected connect deletes the current draft, not the one that was checked

for (const f of secretFields) if (r.origin[f] === "draft") await core.deleteSecret(core.secretKey("draft", id, f))

Validation runs outside the lock. If set-secret replaces the draft while the check is in flight (for example from the plugin pane), this deletes the new, unchecked draft by key, not the value that was rejected. The PR's "Draft writes" limitation covers the comparison gap. Deleting the newer secret draft goes a step further. Suggest comparing the stored draft with r.values[f] before deleting it (do it under the lock).

…egrations must be a list

- Keychain add, find and delete run as async child processes (stdin-only
secret, 10 s timeout), so the lock heartbeat keeps running while they wait.
- A workspace answer with missing or null integrations is an error; the
  backend always returns the list.
- status still prints the local state when the login cannot be read.
- Synced rows take validity and expiry from this tool's connection.
- An optional secret with no value does not stop sync; a provider missing
from the workspace catalog is an attach error.
- Connect results return the expiry that was kept; state files whose root
is not an object are errors.

Do not treat a failed keychain read as a missing credential.

On macOS, readSecret returns the keychain value only when security exits with status 0. Every other outcome falls through to the file lookup. That includes a locked keychain, a 10-second timeout, and a spawn failure. Keychain-stored secrets have no file entry, so the lookup returns undefined.

resolve then treats the field as absent and can use a detected environment token. If that token passes validate, the !cfg branch calls put. put calls storeSecret without an origin check, so the detected token can overwrite the saved credential.

Only the macOS keychain path with no file entry returns undefined. A file value for the same id is still returned.

Suggested direction: make readSecret return undefined only for exit status 44 (KEYCHAIN_ITEM_NOT_FOUND). Propagate any other failure. Confirm that resolve, collectConfig, the undo read in put, and the rollback handle a thrown error before any write.

Refuse the attach when the integrations backend differs from the linked login.

attachToBoundWorkspace takes the workspace from the normal login's directory binding, but it writes through cfg, which can come from the ALTIMATE_INTEGRATIONS_* overrides. Workspace IDs are tenant-local, so the override tenant can hold a different workspace with the same ID, owned by the override account. The connection is attached there, and the result reports the linked workspace's name. Return an error when cfg differs from the tenant or URL of the login that produced the binding.

Detach a deleted connection from every workspace that references it.

removeManaged removes a connection only from the workspace bound to the current directory. A connection that was attached from another linked directory can stay in that other workspace's connection_id or connection_ids, and the reference is left dangling after the delete. A later sync from that directory skips the missing connection, so the stale reference stays until a new connection is saved there.

No edit is proposed. Safe cleanup across workspaces needs a way to find every workspace that references the connection, and the owner check applies to each one. The inspected code does not establish either.

Changes requested. One major is open at 2bdd65f1: attaching widens the user's personal connection to the audience of a shared workspace, while the CLI and the PR description call it private. This leaks private data and means the PR doesn't do what it claims, so it blocks merge. Details are inline at core.ts:1019. The rest of this round looks good.

Earlier majors

  • A project .mcp.json choosing where the Jira token goes: stays fixed. fromMcpEnv reads only ~/.claude.json, and the change in 4cc4549d to how MCP env is counted only narrows detection.
  • The token command printing the raw secret: stays fixed. The command is gone, and I found no output path that prints a secret.

Minors from the last review

  1. disconnect printing detachMessage uncleaned: fixed.
  2. set-secret printing the masked tail uncleaned: fixed, and maskTail now covers --json too.
  3. Corrupt login file blocking local-only paths and disconnect: fixed. connect --local-only and a synced disconnect still refuse, which is reasonable because both need the workspace.
  4. ALTIMATE_INTEGRATIONS_* overrides outside mock mode: still open, reasonably deferred.
  5. "Stale" meaning "not visible to the caller": still open, reasonably deferred.

New commits

  • Bad-answer guard: a missing, null or non-list answer is refused before anything is written back, and an empty list is correctly accepted.
  • Stale credential refusal: I found no wedge, since the comparison uses a per-run copy and a state file with no stamp matches on both sides. A sync that doesn't change the stamp still changes validatedAt, so an older connect is refused.
  • Keychain heartbeat: tested with a fake security on PATH. The lock was held for 20 s across two killed 10 s calls, and a second process kept waiting and never took it over.
  • Merge e44e2f50: both conflicted hunks are kept, and the diff against main is only this PR's 6 files. Merged with current main it merges cleanly, type-checks and passes all 188 tests.
  • Tests: removing the list guard, either record check, the stamp compare or the failed-removal status each makes a test fail.

Other minors (none block)

  • sync: "local" on failed results for a credential the workspace holds: the status and message still say it failed.
  • sync inheriting a replaced token's expiry: edge input, and connect repairs it.
  • Keychain read failures treated as absent: edge input, needs a keychain failing on both reads and writes.
  • A draft cleanup failure skipping the Keep local workspace removal: edge input, and a retry recovers.
  • Untested keychain timeout path: test-only.

Findings that aren't tied to a line, plus nits, are in a separate comment.

Major (privacy, blocks merge): attaching shares the user's personal credential with everyone in a shared workspace, while the CLI and the PR say it is private.

connect and sync attach to the linked workspace automatically, and the only check is is_owner (line 1005). Saving an integrations list that newly names a connection_id makes the workspace API widen that connection to the workspace's audience. On a public workspace the connection becomes public; on a restricted one its members are granted use. Widening only adds access, and only a private workspace skips it. GitHub, Jira and Linear are all integrations that take a workspace connection.

So the sequence is: the owner of a shared workspace runs altimate integrations connect github, or links the folder in the plugin, which then runs sync github --keep-synced. The personal token is now usable by every member, and the output says GitHub synced to workspace (private) (cli/cmd/integrations.ts:105). The PR description also says "as a private connection". Nothing warns the user or asks them.

Suggested fix: getDatamate already receives the workspace's privacy. On a non-private workspace, don't attach unless the user explicitly asks (for example with a flag), and report that case the way a failed attach is reported. If sharing is the intended behaviour, the output must say who gets access. Either way, stop printing "(private)" unconditionally, and add a test that attaches to a shared workspace.

Fixed. Sharing to a workspace that isn't private now needs an explicit --share flag on connect, update and sync, including sync --all and --keep-synced.

  • The check: it runs once, on the read made right before the PATCH, so a workspace that changes from private to shared between the two reads is still refused. Only privacy: "private" counts as private; a missing or unknown value is treated as shared.
  • Without --share: nothing is written to the integrations list. The connection stays saved to the user's account, and the result says why: workspace "WS" is shared, so attaching would let its members use this connection; it stays saved to your account only. Run altimate integrations sync github --share to attach it.
  • What counts as sharing: only an attach that would make the entry newly name this connection. A connection the workspace already uses is kept attached. An entry that keeps another live connection is reported as kept, not as shared.
  • Output: "(private)" is printed only when the connection really is private. Otherwise the CLI says synced to workspace, shared with its members or …; its members can use this connection, and --json carries shared: true for connect, update and sync.
  • Tests: shared, restricted and missing privacy; with and without --share; a private→public change between the reads; an already-attached connection; a kept entry; connect/update with the hinted sync --share; and the CLI wording. Each fails with the check removed.
  • I confirmed in the backend that PrivacySetting is public or private, and the summary response carries it on datamate.

Minor (not blocking): failed results say sync: "local" for a credential the workspace holds. I reproduced this with a synced record: update against a backend that answers 500 returns {status: "failed", sync: "local"} while the record says synced: true. The same happens on :605 (update with no token gives missing_fields/local) and on :699, where a copy only the workspace holds plus a keychain write failure uses rec?.synced rather than hadCopy. Lines 739-740 already use rec?.synced ? "synced" : "local", so this is the same fix as 4cc4549 applied to the remaining paths. Not blocking: nothing changes state, and the status and message both say the call failed.

Fixed. Failed connect/update results now report where the credential actually is: synced when the record is synced or the workspace holds this tool's connection, local otherwise. This applies to the 500 path, missing_fields, the workspace-check failures and the catch-all. The keychain-write failure uses hadCopy, as you suggested. Test: a failed update of a synced credential returns failed and synced, and fails with the old local.

Minor (not blocking): sync of a replaced detected token inherits the old token's expiry and uploads it. Reproduced: GITHUB_TOKEN holds a token with an expiry and sync github runs, then GITHUB_TOKEN holds a new token whose answer has no expiry header and sync github runs again. The old expires_at is PATCHed onto the connection, and status says expired for a working token. connect handles this at credentials.ts:645 by keeping the old expiry only for the same credential; this path has no such check. Keep rec.expiresAt only when the config came from the saved credential, not from detectedConfig. Not blocking: GitHub only, needs that token sequence, and connect repairs it.

Fixed. collectConfig now marks the saved credential (saved: true), and sync carries over rec.expiresAt only for it. A detected token that the provider answers without an expiry uploads no expires_at. Test: your sequence (a GITHUB_TOKEN with an expiry, then a replacement without one) PATCHes no expires_at, and fails without the fix.

Minor (not blocking): any keychain failure reads as "no secret". deleteSecret tells exit 44 from other failures, but readSecret treats a timeout or a locked keychain as absent. Reproduced with a mocked security (find exits 36, the first add succeeds, the second fails): the rollback at credentials.ts:694 has prev === undefined, so it runs delete-generic-password on the stored cred: item, and the message says "nothing was stored". An unreadable stored secret also falls through to a detected one in resolve, and becomes "no local credential to upload" in collectConfig. Suggested fix: only exit 44 means absent; anything else throws. Not blocking: the data loss needs a keychain that fails reads and then fails on the second write.

Fixed. readSecret treats only exit 44 as absent; any other failure throws Could not read a stored credential from the macOS keychain (exit N). Unlock the keychain and try again. I dropped the "could not be found" text match from both read and delete, because a missing keychain (exit 50) prints the same text.

  • Rollback: a failed read now throws before storeSecret and before the item is put in the undo list, so it is never deleted.
  • resolve: it no longer falls through to a detected secret.
  • sync: an unreadable saved credential fails that provider with the reason, instead of "no local credential to upload" or stopping --all.
  • Tests: exits 44, 36 and 50, and a sync with an unreadable credential.

Minor (not blocking): a draft cleanup failure here skips the workspace removal, and the message doesn't say so. finish() writes the record and then deletes the drafts, outside any try. Reproduced with a keychain delete that exits 51 on the draft: the call throws Could not remove a stored credential…, the record already says local and blocked, and the workspace copy is still there because lines 710-716 never ran. The result gives no hint that the move didn't finish. Catch the failure and report it like purgeNote, then carry on to the removal. Not blocking: edge input, and running connect --local-only again recovers.

Fixed. Draft cleanup now returns a note instead of throwing (clearDrafts). Keep local records the move, notes What was entered could not be cleared from this machine: …, and still removes the workspace copy. The same helper keeps the workspace's refusal reason on both rejected paths, which covers the :758 nit. Test: a draft delete that fails with exit 51 still leaves no workspace connection, with the note in the message.

Minor (not blocking), earlier finding, reasonably deferred: the ALTIMATE_INTEGRATIONS_* endpoint overrides here and in backend.ts:40 are still honoured outside mock mode. Unchanged, and the PR description lists it as a follow-up. Safe to do in a follow-up, as it adds no new trust boundary beyond what a trusted settings file can already do.

Minor (not blocking), earlier finding, reasonably deferred: "stale" here still means "not in the caller's visible list". Unchanged, and the PR description lists it as a follow-up that needs a backend rule. Edge case: the backend refuses a save that newly names a connection the saving user doesn't own, so the case is narrow. Safe to do in a follow-up.

Minor (test-only, not blocking): the keychain timeout path has no test. With the kill and the timed out result removed from this timer, all 188 tests still pass. The mocked spawn always emits close, so a hung security is never exercised. I ran this path by hand with a fake security on PATH, and it works: the child is killed at 10 s, and a second process keeps waiting for the lock through a 20 s hold. A short injectable timeout would let a test cover it, including a timed-out read and a timed-out write.

Fixed. The security timeout is now keychainLimits.timeoutMs, which tests shorten. A test hangs both a read and a write, and asserts that each rejects and that both children get SIGKILL.

Re-review at 2bdd65f1: items that aren't tied to a diff line, plus nits. None of these block.

PR description

  • "As a private connection" is covered by the inline major on core.ts:1019.
  • The "with mode 0600" line still doesn't cover the catalog cache or mock-remote file, which use writeJson's default mode. Neither holds a secret, so a wording fix is enough.
  • The connect --oauth claim from the earlier reviews is gone.

Tests

  • At the unmodified head, 1 of 15 runs of integrations.test.ts failed: sync creates the managed connection, then updates it in place got failed instead of synced, and a later test timed out as a result. The other 14 were clean, including 10 in a row afterwards. Other work was running on the machine and I couldn't establish the cause, so it may not come from this PR. Worth watching in CI.
  • The title sync is held before the workspace copy is removed, and released again if the removal fails (integrations.test.ts:1742) no longer matches: the test asserts sync stays held.

Known limitation, unchanged: the workspace integrations list is still last-writer-wins between the re-read and the PATCH. The PR description lists it, and the fix needs a conditional update on the backend.

Nits

  • credentials.ts:758: if discardDraftSecrets throws here, the workspace's refusal becomes a generic failed/local result and the reason is lost.
  • credentials.ts:728: a Keep local re-save with an unreachable provider returns account: null while the record keeps rec.account.
  • core.ts:1126: a sync refused because the record changed returns skipped, so it exits 0, while connect reports the same case as failed.
  • core.ts:1143-1155: the object inside updateStore isn't indented.
  • Still open from the earlier reviews: redirect: "manual" on the Jira Server check, removeManaged keeping only the last detach error, and normaliseJiraDomain keeping case.
  • Fixed from the earlier nits: the synced connect path now writes the record before deleting local secrets, and the --json masked value no longer carries C1 characters.

Unverified finding
We couldn't verify this from the code. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.

ownConnections treats a connection with no is_owner field as owned. upsertManaged applies this filter to the visible-connections response, so a shared connection may be selected for update if that response omits the ownership field.

A connect or sync attempt could overwrite another user's connection instead of creating the caller's own.

This can occur when: A shared connection has the managed provider name, and /connections/?include_shared=true returns it without is_owner: false.

Bind the workspace privacy check to the write.

The --share check at line 1034 uses a workspace read taken before the PATCH at line 1036. If the owner changes the workspace to shared in that window, the PATCH attaches the connection without --share. The PATCH sends no precondition, so the backend has no version to reject a stale write. Add a backend version check or a server-side privacy check, so the write fails when privacy changes.

Run the local secret cleanup in the attach branch for synced records.

When a cleanup delete fails after a required secret was already removed, the record stays synced and the failed secret stays in local storage. The next sync collects no complete config. It takes the attach branch, which does not run the cleanup, and reports synced. The failure message tells the user that running sync removes the leftover, but this retry does not remove it.

Run the same local cleanup in the attach branch for synced records, after the workspace connection is found and attached. Report a cleanup failure the same way the post-write path does.

Serialize the rejected-draft compare and delete, and the keychain draft writes too.

The rejected branch deletes each draft field without checking that the stored draft still holds the rejected value. validate runs outside the lock, so another CLI process can save a new draft for the same field during that network call. The delete then removes the new draft, and the user must enter that value again.

Locking only the file path does not close this window. On macOS, the keychain write in storeSecret (core.ts near lines 258-261) and the keychain delete in deleteSecret (near lines 286-288) run before their file-path withLock sections. Those keychain operations are not serialized with the compare-then-delete.

Use one locked section for each rejected draft field: read the draft, delete it only when its value still equals r.values[f], and take the same lock in the keychain branches of storeSecret and deleteSecret. The keychain read used for the comparison must also run under that lock.

Effort is moderate. The file-path change is local to the rejected branch. The keychain change alters shared writer helpers that every secret store and delete uses, not only the draft path. Impact is limited to lost draft input. The credential key and the stored record are not changed, and no secret is disclosed.

Restore secrets and block state when the record write fails.

On the Keep local path, record(false, …) runs after the secret writes and the old-variant purge, outside every rollback. If the state save fails, the new secrets stay in place, the old-variant secrets may be deleted, and the provider stays blocked. The stored record still describes the previous connection. Catch the record failure and restore the undo values, the block flag, and any purged secrets. Read the purged secrets before the purge so they can be restored.

Update the Keep local flow around core.purgeCredentialSecrets and record(false,
{ connectionId: null }) so a failed record write restores the prior secret
values from undo, the provider’s previous block state, and any old-variant
secrets removed by the purge. Read and retain the old-variant secrets before
purging them, and include the record failure in the rollback path without
changing successful-save behavior.

Render found in text-mode status output.

When a provider has a hand-made workspace connection and a syncable local credential, integrations detect shows only the workspace row. The local credential and its source are not printed. Add a line for p.found in printStatus.

Show the removal note when text status reports not_found.

When a synced managed connection disappears from the workspace and no local detection exists, mergeRemote returns not_found with REMOVED_NOTE. printStatus skips the detail line for not_found, so text mode shows only "not found". Print the note in that case, matching the note output at line 265.

Print the not-linked state in text sync output.

When sync saves a connection to the account but no directory link attaches it, the outcome is synced. The text output then reads synced to workspace (private) and omits the not-linked step. Print that step as a warning, as the cleanup warning already is.
